Thanks. That would be kind of a killer criterion.
Adding another form of complication.

Second week of October I will go for extension with a pile of statements from Bangkok Bank in three(!) different forms.

1) One year to be ordered a week ahead! (200 Baht) plus probably an added -> 2)

2) Six months issued on the spot. (100 Baht) (would need two to three  to cover 12 transfers)

3) Self printed statements ordered online and received via email.

If they are OK with 3) I would probably drop the idea.

Hope they will as the bank book and letter is still required to show.

If someone wonders why it's a new topic for me:

many years I used the lazy 800k bank book method.

But I simply want to free the money as my pensions are well over 65k.

What immigration office?  Jomtien requires a special letter from your bank listing just your 12 deposits and containing a statement staying that they were all foreign transfers. The letter takes a week to prepare.

A pile of self prepared printed statements is not what they want.

BBL knows how to do it. I don't know about other banks.

Khon Kaen fortunately and not Jomtien or Bangkok.

And as you can read above it's ok with bank statements in official form/print.

I have decided to change to Kasikorn after the extension for their much easier handling of the statements.

With them I will be able to do all necessary bank paperwork in the morning (same day) before driving to immigration.

  • 3 months later...

My IO (Udon) said they would only accept money from a retirement account (they mentioned Social Security). I asked Siam Legal who said all foreign transfers are acceptable. However my local IO doesn't agree.

For the 65k method don't you just need one letter from the bank showing the 12 international transfers?

Yes, one letter saying the account is yours, up to date Bank Book also showing Foreign transfer and 12 month statements stamped by a bank official, PC downloads are not accepted I have been told, but never tried. I do not think that the Wise statements are considered, although I may be wrong, anyone used them?
