Thai Court Seizes Millions from Corrupt Official Over Unexplained Wealth
In a significant move targeting corruption, the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 3 has ordered the confiscation of assets worth 5.1 million baht from a Public Warehouse Organisation (PWO) official. This ruling was announced by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) yesterday. The court's decision on 28 March directed the confiscation of funds in two accounts held by Sarot Sutthiwong. According to Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, NACC Secretary-General and spokesperson, the investigation into Sarot's unusual wealth began after substantial evidence suggested his involvement in illicit gain. Sarot, who served as head of the warehouses owned by TSTE Plc from February 2003 to March 2004, could not sufficiently explain the source of his wealth. The NACC's inquiry not only highlighted this discrepancy but also uncovered Sarot's dereliction of duty in inspecting rice stocks under the government's contentious rice-pledging scheme. Niwatchai stated, "If the remaining funds in Sarot’s accounts are insufficient to meet the court's confiscation order, legal authorities have 10 years to track down and seize other assets to enforce the decision." This case marks a crucial step in Thailand's ongoing efforts to combat corruption and hold officials accountable for misconduct. Photo: The Thaiger -- 2024-09-19 -

Trump: "President Biden was so nice." Civility During Flint Rally Amid Political Tensions
Like a true statesman, Trump can forgive his worst enemy, a bit like Nelson Mandela really. What a man he is. What a blessing to have him as our President soon. -

Trump and Vance continue to lie about and demonise Haitians in Springfield
I guess nobody is allowed to make observations about Haitain "immigrants" at the risk of being called racist. FFS, they practice voodoo in their homeland, and it is the absolute worst place in the entire western hemisphere. Is it really a stretch to think they might bring their filthy and primitive practices with them. Are we also not allowed to notice the incredibly high incidence of automobile accidents they cause and the effect this has had on insurance rates for non-Haitians? In fact, are Haitian drivers even insured at all, and is asking them for proof of insurance more racism. This is just Kamala dropping a dukie on the country and cackling about it.- 1

Interactive Wire Transfer In Baht to Bangkok Bank - BBK Transfer fees?
The credit advice I request from SCB shows a commission charge - which used to be 520 baht. The 20 baht was apparently due to the account being outside Bangkok. 500 as per their Ts and Cs. When I changed to sending with all charges paid for the advice note still shows the word Commission but the amount as zero. From memory when you SWIFT money you should have 3 options with your sending bank - Pay all, share all and receiver pays. For me this way worked out cheaper in fees but will depend on your individual bank.(s). -

Illegal Foreign Guide Assaults Chinese Tourist at Jewelry Store
This is how tour operators can offer package tours (flight, hotel, food, guide, bus+driver, entry fees) at bargain prices. They offer low-cost, all-inclusive 7-14 day packages with all your days planned out. That includes visiting one or two factories/outlets per day, in addition to the scenic sites. Not a scam, not fake products. Tour operators get a cut of purchases made, tour guides get a commission. -
