I was born in Serbia or rather when it was still called Yugoslavia. You are under some serious delusion that people in Thailand are somehow better drivers or even human beings because they are "polite". People from my region (Serbs, Croats, whatever) are taught manners from the very early age and even tho we can be mentally unstable and somewhat aggressive we are not fake. We will tell you in your face we do not like you and still take you out, buy you drinks (even if we are broke) and show you a good time. Here people are srlfish to the core which cam be easily proven by the number of Farang mugs who pay to be loved and touched by their "partner". The number of murders due to money and even trivial things like a loss of face. Have you ever seen a Serbian woman actively pursuing a "rich" american or god forbid a Brit? Neither have I. -

Impossible to know until they find out what work she was doing. Only 43 and died from exhaustion sounds a little fishy. Thais work here into their 60's and more farming, which is as hard as just about any work. What is wrong is how a mother has to go away for 3 or more years while her kids are at home with grandma, which increases every year here. Dads disappear soon after a baby is born, if not earlier, and the mom thinks she needs to go elsewhere for work while rarely seeing her children. My ex's brother has been in Israel over 5 years and hasn't come back since, and has 2 girls and a wife here. This more than anything else is why birth control must be used, along with a court system that punishes men when they don't pay child support. That mom would still be alive if she stayed here for work, and the kids would do much better, especially if they have no dad. -

The annoyance of the ++ prices
You have a valid point. The failure to be transparent is also found in USA, Canada and the sections of Mexico that cater to Canada/USA tourists. Years ago, the airlines used to do similar advertising their cheap airfares and then adding service fees and taxes. The laws changed to force them to be all inclusive in their pricing. No one complained then. It is deceitful not to show the full price. -

What does this do?
Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, How are you today? Can anyone please advise me what do these things actually do? Since last year, these steel boxes are mushrooming in the streets and back lanes in Chiang Mai. Some are large, some are small. Always on the roadside. All in milky color with the electrocution warning sign. Are they something like transformers? Please refer to the phots attached below. -

They have other methods. The better polling organizations are well aware that most people screen calls and/or don't even have landlines. That said my Mom worked for a while for the Harris polling organization using a phone in our basement. But that was long ago. Most people including me have never been polled. -
