Dog's Loud Barking Drives Neighbour to Shoot Man Next Door

A night disturbed by loud dog barking in a quiet neighbourhood escalated dramatically, leading to gunfire and injury. An ongoing dispute between two neighbours over a noisy dog has culminated in a serious, violent incident.

 

On the evening of September 17, around 7:06 PM, officers at Nong Prue Police Station received an urgent report of a shooting in Soi Bun Samphan 17, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Police, led by Pol. Lt. Charnchai Sanguansaksri, promptly arrived at the scene.

 

The victim, 41-year-old Mr. Wanit Sueasingh, a maintenance worker at a local home, had been shot in the right thigh. The origin of the dispute lay in the persistent loud barking of his neighbour's dog, which had significantly disturbed his sleep. Over time, the issue had led to several heated exchanges between him and 47-year-old Ms. Siwaporn.

 

The incident reached its peak when, during another argument about the dog’s barking, Ms. Siwaporn was trimming a tree in her garden. Mr. Wanit confronted her, frustrated and tired. According to his account, Ms. Siwaporn retaliated by throwing a potted plant at his door, followed by firing a gunshot which hit him.

As Mr. Wanit lay injured, emergency responders provided him with first aid and transported him to the hospital. Ms. Siwaporn was quickly detained by the police.

 

They discovered a .32 caliber revolver with two spent bullets, indicating recent use. Ms. Siwaporn confessed to the shooting, citing the long-standing disputes and claiming that Mr. Wanit had provoked her by tossing a plant pot earlier in the day.

 

Pol. Lt. Chanchaloay, leading the investigation, has taken Ms. Siwaporn into custody and confiscated the weapon. Authorities will proceed with a thorough inquiry, including questioning Mr. Wanit once he is in a stable condition, and reviewing CCTV footage to gather all necessary evidence for the case.

Insensitive, failed dog owners should be put out of their neighbours' misery by a vet-administered lethal injection.  Usually someone lobs a quantity of rat poison over the fence.

They have my sympathy.. I have a neighbour who seems to have quite a number of dogs that they are unable to keep quiet..... if they even try to. Couple of noisy adapted motorcycle too... (which set the dogs off)! Keep me away from alcohol and weapons!

Not too unreasonable, you can ask and ask but the neighbour ignores you and lets the dog bark all night. Obviously shooting the neighbour is extreme but lying in bed listening to senseless barking must be awful.

It was the dog owner who shot the complainer.

I have three dogs living next door to me, and sometimes at night, they bark. A lot.

And it can be annoying.

When I check the CCTV, it is usually because someone (or another dog) is walking around the area.

I am happy for the dogs to bark.

Now and again (very rare), someone in the area has money stolen from their house.

No one in the street where I live has had anything stolen.

Bark away doggies and thank you for protecting the neighbourhood..

Bad neighbors are so common in this country, its a huge risk buying anything that would place you in the viscinity of others

A total lack of empathy is a worldwide phenomenon and certainly not limited to Thailand.

 

It should be taught in every school.

1 All dogs bark

2 What about all the other dogs barking

 

Anonymous threats to kill their dogs is more effective than risking them losing face by confronting them. Luckily most of the ones round us have died or moved away, leaving just the navy couple across the road with 5 and the lezzies next door with 2.

Totally stupid people that can´t discuss and reach a solution. Only thinking the other one talking bad and making them lose face. Big face thing.

Minimum sentence of 2 years for breaking any gun law, plus 2 years for having an illigal gun if it was. Thailand  needs to implement these rules ASAP not continue with their heads stuck in the sand, People need to sit up and take notice to stop these kinds of crimes, and mandatory sentencing just might help these crimes from being committed, not just pay some compensation, a wai and a gift basket, Thais know they can just get away with it via a bit of cash.

Not really my dog only barks if someone (a stranger) enters our land, and will lay quietly all day while neighbors dogs are barking through their gate at all and sundry.. Good boy he is. He did get that collar off though after a few days. He always carries a leaf for reasons only he knows about.

Shopee; Ultrasonic dog deterent, 80 baht. Sorted....

Stops the pack of soi dogs from congregating and barking/howling outside my front gates. No audible sound to wake the neighbours. Flashing torch light  and ultrasonic audio and they disappear. Dont know why it took me so many years to get one. I will upgrade to the motion detector models for the gate entrances and keep the handheld device on my motorbike in case of being attacked whilst on the roads. Hope this info can help some of you with similar problems.

I think that you will find bad neighbours in every country.

Most of my neighbours here are brilliant, with the exception of a French guy.

Thai neighbours, no trouble at all.

You must be lucky. The only experience ive ever had was getting smoke next door from someone regularly burning their plastic. Fortunately i rented!

Indeed.. I'm sure the whole neighbourhood will be thankful for that...

 

However, will the woman be charged with attempted murder ?...  this leaves no one in the house looking after the dog, and no one will know what to do with the dog which will end up roaming the area. 

Some caring soul will start feeding it and it will continue barking all night... 

... Problem not solved until someone 'solves' is (usually poisoned meat).
