For many jobs and functions you need to pass a medical and often a psychological test. For president of the USA.. you only need 270 votes. Not even the majority of the peoples votes.

From the link I supplied in another post:

Dr. Gartner told DeVega that Joe Biden’s occasional gaffes “are well within the normal limits of aging.” Trump, however, appears to be showing gross signs of dementia. This is what Dr. Gartner told DeVega, verbatim:

You're joking? Right?

Trump is a convicted felon, fraudster, liar and sexual predator. He is in no way qualified for high office.

Im not a Trump supporter I dont follow or listen to the rambling Im interested in polIcies which I happen to support not all but many.

It not about issue but the man! Reason there is never a logical response or debate.

Issue.

Haitians eating cats and dogs in Springfield.

Do you believe it?

Do you believe they're  illegals as Trump accused?

Assuming no and no do you think demonizing a minority and race baiting is acceptable in a president?

Of course not, but when people have dementia they often say things that are not acceptable.

Far less coherent than in the past, very hard for him to continue a sentence for more than 15 seconds, alot of rambling, complaining, playing the victim card, and juvenile name calling as usual. Even most of the CEO's he met with a month ago were shocked at how lacking his message was.

Also notice the use of repetitions, of the main "theme/slogan" (short sentence of a few words, such as "she's a liar") each repetition quipped with a different tag line, "let me tell you," or "people keep saying" or "that's what I heard"...

So "She's a liar" becomes : "She's a liar, let me tell you...People keep saying she's a liar. Yes, she's a liar, that's what I heard." At least three repetitions, not counting later encores,  which is a speech pattern often found in old folks becoming senile, ie the struggle to get hold of one idea before it slips away.

Trump does struggle to find the right words, and pronounce them correctly. He's got the mood swings.

Or in the case of  "the oranges of the investigation" Trump does find the right word, but struggles to pronounce it correctly ("oranges" was said 3 times, at one point one heard "oringes"  pronounced as in "syringes.")

Telling statement from the linked article:
MAGA is a big part of the problem, by applauding and cheering Trump’s deeply disturbed and disturbing behaviour:
(Don't have to look too hard to find examples of that).

https://kenmcgoogan.com/2024/05/17/trump-dementia-collective-pathology/

The other not small "part of the problem" is the media treating Trump's insanity as par for the common discourse. I believe the trend word du jour is "sane-washing."
