A family of three in Udon Thani, who received 10,000 baht from a government program, used the funds to buy a second-hand motorcycle with a sidecar for work.

With the remaining money, they celebrated by drinking alcohol. However, the celebration took a violent turn when the intoxicated son struck his father on the head with a ceramic coffee cup, causing severe bleeding.

On September 29, Pol. Lt. Col. Jamlong Thongfuang of the Udon Thani Police Station responded to a report of a son attacking his father at a house in Moo 13, Nong Na Kham, Udon Thani. Upon arriving at the scene, police found a shattered coffee cup outside a raised wooden house.

The 63-year-old father was found bleeding profusely from a deep wound on his forehead. He was quickly given first aid before being transferred to Udon Thani Hospital.

The injured man's 58-year-old wife, heavily intoxicated, was nearby and hysterically shouted, "Yod hit his father!" Police calmed her and learned that Yod, the 35-40-year-old son, had fled the scene on a motorcycle, reported Daily News.

A neighbor, who witnessed the aftermath, said the family had been drinking since 9 a.m. and that Yod often became violent after consuming alcohol. Police are now working to locate Yod for questioning, while his father remains under medical care.

The family had been celebrating the recent purchase of a second-hand vehicle, spending the rest of their money on alcohol and snacks. The investigation is ongoing.

The Free alcohol hand out ( 10,000 baht) seems to be stimulating drunks! Well thought out by the govt!

PM won't complain much, after all it was vote buying that got her to the position she has.
