The Thai Embassy in Israel has ordered the immediate evacuation of Thai nationals from the border cities of Metula, Misgav Am, and Kfar Giladi. This follows the Israeli Defence Forces' (IDF) announcement of these areas as closed military zones due to escalating tensions with Lebanon.

The IDF's decision comes amidst credible indications of a forthcoming ground operation against Hezbollah forces in Lebanon. The announcement marks a significant escalation in the region, heightening concerns for the safety of residents and foreign nationals.

In response, the Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv has taken swift action, issuing a public statement on its Facebook page. All Thai nationals residing in the affected areas are urged to leave immediately to ensure their safety.

For Thai nationals requiring assistance, the embassy has provided several emergency contact numbers for both consular and labour departments: +972 546368150, +972 503673195 for consular support, and +972 99548431, +972 544693476 for labour assistance. Additionally, Line users can reach out via ID: 0544693476.

This precautionary measure underscores the severity of the situation and the necessity for swift compliance to safeguard lives as the geopolitical climate around the Israel-Lebanon border remains tense.

Let us hope that Hezbollah do not take anyone hostage.

Best not to stick around then, plenty of buses leaving town for safer areas.

Good advice - most analysts seem to consider a wider regional war almost inevitable.
