Flooding in CM?
That was going to be our first port of call after dropping the bags off and before a medical appointment at Sripat Hospital. As Riverside Hotel sits as low as or slightly lower than Khualek that does not bode well for my intended stay. Thanks for the update. -

Transport Department Clarifies Fatal Bus Fire Incident to Committee: CNG Leak Confirmed
1: How? Who with? That's 223 buses per day. 2: Raise the standards? You can wrap a turd in a rose but it's still going to be a turd. 3: 500 trips happening next Tuesday (just an example) each staring at 5:00 am. All buses will need to be thoroughly inspected before the journey. How? Who's going to do it? 4: How? Who will conduct the training and who will pay for it? What defines emergency response? 5: This is a seatbelt. -

If cost is zero consideration: What is the very best clinic for dental implant in CM?
Elite Smile at Pantip Plaza did three for me, which are still going strong after ten years. They have state of the art equipment, and use the best materials. IIRC it cost me 55,000 baht back then per implant, including a bone graft. Unfortunately they have moved from Pantip, I don't know where they are in CM now. -

Thai Government Offers Car Tax Breaks for Elderly and Disabled Citizens
Thailand's Excise Department is preparing to implement a new rule that will remove tax on vehicles specifically designed for the elderly or individuals with disabilities, reducing the current tax rates on such vehicles from 25 to 40%. The Director-General of the Department, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, explained the current rules and how the new regulation would change them. At present, vehicles with 10 or more seats, like passenger vans, do not have to pay excise tax. But if a vehicle is altered by removing seats for the installation of special equipment for disabled or elderly individuals, thereby dropping the number of seats to less than 10, then it becomes subject to an excise tax of 25 to 40%. Aiming to endorse equality and convenience for elderly and disabled individuals, as well as supporting Thailand's objective to become a medical hub, the Excise Department is planning to propose a new rule to the Finance Ministry. This will exclude such altered vehicles from excise tax. To prevent misuse of this new rule, the Department will demand proof that the vehicle modifications are specifically made for elderly or disabled persons. Relevant agencies will be tasked with conducting inspections and providing certifications. In addition, the Department aims to release a statement detailing guidelines and requirements for special equipment for elderly or disabled people like lifts, seatbelt systems, and wheelchair securement systems. This will include specifications for symbols and text indicating that the vehicle is intended for use by elderly or disabled persons, stated Ekniti. “This move will not only assist the elderly and the disabled but will also encourage innovation in the auto industry,” he added. Ekniti further mentioned that the Excise Department is now focusing not just on taxing products that affect the environment, health, or luxury items, but also on promoting societal wellbeing. One example of this is the sugar tax implemented previously to motivate beverage manufacturers to lower the sugar levels in their products, aiming to combat the increase in diabetes cases in Thailand. This has led to a significant decrease in the production of sugary drinks over the past four to five years, reducing beverages containing more than 14 grams of sugar per liter from 819 million liters per year to just 16 million liters annually. Bank of Thailand Intervenes to Manage Baht's Exchange Rate
Er, not really. THB is not freely convertible, it cannot be freely exported except in very limited amounts, more generously to neighbouring countries but not further afield. And whilst THB is traded on international markets, it is not traded for delivery. In fact, overseas banks are restricted as to how much THB they cam hold, without being cut off from transacting via BOT. BOT has been relaxing these rules over the years but it is still a controlled currency. -

Flooding in CM?
Tried for lunch at KhuaLek cafe today, closed due to flooding. My misses insisted we immediately left the area as it was too dangerous. Ended up having a fish burger at Chester's in Airport plaza as being closest to immigration for after lunch.- 1

New ‘Dee-Delivery’ regulation to combat COD fraud epidemic
If you think marketing and commercial, is a name that stand as a symbol for Good Delivery, as they combine Dee which is Good in Thai and Delivery in English. The new regulation is that payment is on hold for 5 days after you get the delivery, which gives you time to complain, as well as they need more information from the seller on the package and sender information in the systems.
