I drive a Toyota Corolla Cross 1800 hybrid super car with all the gadgets the gasoline charges the electric motor and it’s very economical trouble with full electric cars is there are few charging stations in Thailand unless your happy to charge it at home which takes 8 hours with the hybrid I’ve got the best of both worlds  cost 1.3 million baht

It seems that apart from antiquated mindsets, there are a lot of ignorant minds out there.

With the possible exception of a few remote places in the middle of Nakhon Nowhere (my sympathies if you live in one of these locations), there are plenty of public charging stations available.Within about 10 kms of me, there are over 10 charging stations. BUT, it doesn’t matter even if there are hundreds. I don’t need to use them. This is one of the beauties of an EV. You don’t need to go out of your way to “fuel” up your vehicle. Get home, plug it in and voila! job done. Yes, it may take 8 hours to charge an EV from near empty to near full except that EV owners almost never do that. This is the mindset of ICEV owners as they try to minimise the number of visits to a petrol station.

You have a Toyota hybrid, non plug in. Sorry but you don’t have the best of both worlds. Your puny electric battery needs to be constantly charged by your gasoline engine. All that your “electrification” does is to give you a bit of a boost. You can hardly drive one or two kms on battery power alone.

Chinese cars are POSs, copies of Fords with cheap plastic. I had 250,000 out of a Benz once and 300,000 out of a Toyota, no chinese car will ever last that long.

So says a poster who has no idea of what he’s talking about.

Well Im just a Gweilo myself, but I have been to China, my kid lived in China and I have driven Chinese cars. The entire country is based on the theft of intellectual property and is a dictatorial, warmongering, racist (like the term Gweilo...hey did you know black people are called Hak Gwai, measning black devils?), graft encrusted Potemkin village of empty gleaming buildings with hordes of propagandists on every social media platform warbling the praises of the crap turned out by their low educated depressed and repressed exploited workers.

Tell us how superior any Chinese car is compared to say a Lexus. Price.

Like nuclear subs sinking at the dock.

About racism. Lots of hate crimes in western countries against Asians. Do you know of any hate crimes in China against white people?

About war mongering. When was the last time China was involved in a war? The west on the other hand, had not stopped warring since forever, it seems like.

About propaganda. US Congress just approved $1.6 billion to fund a propaganda campaign against China. What’s China’s budget for a counter campaign? 9Hint: China doesn’t have such hypocritical actions).

About Chinese cars. How much is a Lexus and how much is. BYD Seal? Do you know what comparing apples and oranges mean?

OK. Stripped out Toyota vs any Chinese POS. Glad to have outed you as a propagandist for their hate ridden regime.

"What’s China’s budget for a counter campaign?" Why dont you ask and keep asking, see how long before you are in handcuffs?

I personally like the hybrid models more than the fully EV's.  I lean more towards Toyotas than other brands.  I'm not a fan of the Chinese made EV's.

I agree - they are like the Japanese cars were like in the early 60s - cheap but not so good.

But like the Japanese, they will get better and will probably dominate sales of EVs - when the time is right for EVs.

Non-franchised used car dealers usually do have finance options for customers.

Good point - some do have that option available - but not 'directly' as such - meaning not signed 'in house'.

But those that do, can organise for a rep from a finance company to get involved.

Very few 'non-franchised' used car dealers in Thailand. Only Toyota and BMW do that here, that I am aware of. And even then, the Toyota Sure places also sell other brands.  It always makes me wonder why in Thailand, the 'dealers' only sell brand new cars of that brand.  Where do the 'demos' get sold here? Why dont they sell traded-in models that are only a few years old? When reflecting on that and other idiosyncrasies here, I wonder why are 80% of the dealer used cars advertised online here, those that are for sale in Bangkok?

You're wrong. Nearly every brand sells their own certified used cars that come with finance and warranties.

Not only Toyota and BMW, but Honda, Mercedes, Volvo, Nissan, and MG have them nationwide. Ford, Isuzu and Mitsubishi also sell them but through local dealers.
