Taxi from Suwannaphum to Pattaya

Recommended Posts

In the past, there were a number of good taxi firms that specialised in the run from Suwannaphum to Pattaya. If you didn't want to use the bus, they provided an excellent alternative and were far better in every aspect than the official airport taxis.

Are they still going? And, if so, can anyone recommend one.

Many thanks

Go up where they drop off and ask for best price. You'll get many offers.

They don't need to pay airport fee there = cheaper for you.

PS. Don't take local guy, they get lost... that happened to me.

Luckily he was honest and called a friend who came, drove to Jomtioen and didn't charge extra. Original guy didn't ask any money. Nice guy but not a pro.

Been using Nam for years.  Good service.  Safe female drivers.

Had a bad experience once with an erratic male driver once.  Suspected he’d been up a few days on yabbadabbado.

I had one who was wound up o breaking point and all he did was complain about Pattaya mafia grinding him down to a low price for a fare.....me! I suffered and the guy refused to use toll roads and drove like a crazy man!

In fact I took this bus to the airport this morning and back again this evening

it is a very good and cheap service if you live in the Jomtien area.

Yes it is not a Taxi service  so not door to door   but about 10 times cheaper ! 😋

Next weekend I will take my regular transport route to Pattaya for the weekend from Bangkok.  I do it cause I like it, not because its the cheapest but it's enjoyable, for me at least;

Motorbike taxi to MRT, 20 baht

MRT to Petchaaburi, 15 baht

ARL to Suvarnabhumi, 35 baht

Bell Bus to Pattaya, 190 baht

Motorbike taxi to hotel, 100 baht ( know that's OTT but I don't care)

Return journey will be by taxi as will be feeling like crap by then.

Well if you have 8 hours to spare and are bored with life why not?

For me, Nams Taxi has been excellent for last 6 years

I leave home at about 11am, will be at the hotel shortly after 2pm for check in.  Call it 4 hours max.  Works for me, not about the cost or time, not sure what I would do with the extra two hours time if I waited for a taxi, sleep maybe.  Nam's will bring me home for sure.

At Swampy they have a ticket queue for the taxis.

If they refuse to use the meter just tell them, no problem and walk off towards the ticket machine and tell them you will get another taxi.

They ALWAYS back down, because if they didn’t they would have to go to the end of the queue again.
I NEVER tip when they try this on me.

drivers that agree to use the meter straight away  without fuss i will tip them around 200 baht.

Your advice is sound when going from the airport to Bangkok. However, this thread is about a taxi from the airport to Pattaya. As far as I know, they do not use taximeter when going out of Bangkok.

They do if you do what I say.
