Scottish Tourist on Cannabis, Suffers Hallucinations & Causes Public Disturbance: Pattaya

An unfortuate predicament for the woman to find herself in.

Definitely not on her own since  weed has been sold more freely and available on every street corner in Thailand.

It always amuses me that this British woman has been indentified as Scottish.

If the woman was English then I am quite sure the woman would be described as British.

i thought cannabis was good for you? well at least that's what AN members say

I think a lot depends on what part of the cannabis you use, how much of it you use and the way you use it.

A 55-year-old Scottish tourist, Ms. Henderson, experienced a severe reaction after consuming an excessive amount of cannabis, leading to a public disturbance that required police intervention. The incident took place at a resort on Jomtien Beach Road in Chonburi on October 12, after hotel staff were unable to control the situation and called for assistance.

At 12:40, Pol. Lt. Sontaya Khonsap, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya City Police Station, responded to the call. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Ms. Henderson in a state of extreme fear, crying and shaking inside her room, which was left in disarray. A jar of cannabis flowers, paraphernalia for smoking, and prescription medication were discovered in the room. Officers attempted to calm her down and escort her to the hotel reception area, but her behavior quickly escalated.

According to a Danish man, who had been friends with Ms. Henderson for over 15 years, they had been in Pattaya for just two days to enjoy their retirement. The previous day, Ms. Henderson purchased cannabis to smoke, after which she began exhibiting unusual behaviour. She became paranoid, fearing that someone was out to harm her, and isolated herself in her room. Concerned for her safety, her friend alerted hotel staff, who then contacted the police for help.

As officers attempted to escort Ms. Henderson to a police vehicle, she became increasingly agitated, fearing she would be harmed. She resisted their efforts, sticking her tongue out and making faces at the police and passersby. Police eventually managed to take her to a medical facility for treatment. It is suspected that her erratic behaviour was triggered by a combination of her pre-existing medical condition and an excessive amount of cannabis.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and ensure the well-being of the tourist.

So what's your vice then, Lou???

No vices, whatsoever, but I do enjoy an occasional Guinness or G&T.  Difference is that I'm nor deluded nor a pejorative "head" of any description.

He just gets drunk with the other alcoholics on this forum.

Obviously, you do not know me so you are not in any position to make fatuous claims about my behaviour.

Of course she did. They should have given her some chocolates and left her alone for 2 hours.

Not true at all.

Many people use some parts of the cannabis on medical grounds.

Are they deluded potheads too?

Not necessarily, and I did not say that they are.

If she's come straight from Scotland it's just as likely to be the temperatures here that have had an impact.....anything over 16C and she could be struggling.

Do you often see new arrivals from cold Countries at Swampy pulling faces and sticking their tongues out at passers by  ?

   I haven't noticed it myself

Both would be 100% accurate descriptions of her.

The scottish travel on a British Passport but seem to in most cases considered Scottish.

The English are using a British Passport as well yet in most cases referred to as British.
