Tell me why Pattaya to BKK by his
One of my interests is why people travel from Pattaya to Bangkok to save a pittance Again this morning in my Hotel I watched a retired couple from the USA complete with pushing their luggage bags order a Grab to take them to the North Pattaya bus station to go to Bangkok I actually heard him say to the reception would he have to order another Grab when he got to Bangkok to go to the hotel there or could they get the SkyTrain I'm thinking why? Why don't you just pay 1200 baht for a taxi car door to door ? How much are you saving ,so let's look at it. Grab probably 70-90 baht to bus station Bus to Bangkok 200 baht each ? Then when they get to Bangkok another Grab -150-200 baht ? So they saved 600 baht Please tell me if that's worth it and why do you travel by bus -

Obtaining a Marriage Visa after Privilege Visa Expires
Agree with Rob above. You'll first have to obtain a Non Imm O visa based on Thai spouse. I doubt Immigration would allow you to apply for that in Country as technically the procedure is for those who entered VE or on a TV, but no harm asking. https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=2506 Click on No.6 to open a PDF for the procedure. The alternative is applying at Savannahket for a single entry Non Imm O based on Thai spouse. Currently, no proof of funds required. On entry to Thailand, you'll be granted permission of stay for 90 days. Within the last 30 days of that 90 days, you can apply for the 1 year permission of stay based on Thai spouse. Requires 400K THB deposited in a Thai bank account, your sole name, for 2 months prior to submitting the application. -

Expats in Thailand urged not to worry about negative income tax
Sure you can. Then it defines a big part of expats who think they can retire on money they can´t use. After that, complaining about not enough money. I actually count such people out of the equation. That´s too stupid for me. I am pretty sure they have these set amounts because they want to make sure foreigners can live in and afford Thailand without getting into complicated situations. However, here it was the negative tax we talked about, and there you are perfectly right. Doing it that way, everybody can come stay in Thailand without anything to live on. 🙂 -

The FGC-9 DIY Gun Threat Not Just a Weapon for Neo-Nazis or the far-right
I rented a house in Casper Wyoming and soon after, the cops knocked on my door looking for a previous tenant. I showed them my ID and my new rental contract and they thanked me and went away. For months, I was getting door knocks at all hours looking to score some drugs. I answered the door from my 2nd floor window with a handgun at the ready. Very glad I had it, though I never had to flash it. That's a statistic that nobody can track. How many lives were saved because the bad guys either saw a gun, or were afraid that their intended victim had one. I suspect it's a big number, but nobody tracks it if there's no shooting. -

Unpredictable Nature of Life Expectancy: Risks in the Assisted Dying Bill
I read that, but it makes little difference if you suffer from debilitating pain whether it is going to be for six or twelve months of pain. Assisted dying should not be because you are dying anyway it should be for people who do not have a quality of life that they would like to put up with for years to come. If you are told that you have six months to live and you live a relatively pain free existence and can still move around and do things living 12 months is a bonus. I can see that governments may want to talk people into assisted dying if they have only months to live as it means that the health service would save money. -

I met Mr Independent
You obviously need to get out more, or at least open your eyes, as @Hummin points out, 'hand' holding is catching on. I emphasize 'hand' holding, as when I first got here, I thought half the people were gay. As seen so many woman / girls, men / boys, holding each others arms while walking about and in malls. Much more physical contact than same sex friends where I grew up / USA. Couples have morphed that down to hand holding, probably due to western TV viewing. Rarer, but some even show affection in public now, though nothing like westerners. -
