Never mind the outcome.

It goes to show that people are tired of the same old establishment BS and nothing changing. Look at the rise of so called 'right wing' parties in the EU, people are tired of the same old <deleted> and more recently being treated worse than immigrants both legal and illegal.

Sadly even if Harris (hopefully) wins and Trump fails to violently take power anyway, the maga movement will remain alive and well going forward for at least another decade, maybe much longer.

The only hope to begin to kill it was a Harris landslide and democrats taking all congress.

That clearly isn't gonna happen, so yeah, we're f-ed.

How long will you be a respected Republican party member if you oppose some of Donald's views?

Republicans (unlike Democrats) do not demand strict adherence to the official party line.

I disagree on any number of things Trump's views, as does every Trump supporter, Democrat and Republican that I know.

What are some of Trump's view that you disagree with?

Once all this election nonsense has passed, and the new congress has been sworn in, I expect all Republican senators and congressmen to drop everything and zero in on Hunter Biden's laptop. Until they get this issue sorted, they shouldn't take up anything else. It shouldn't take them much more than another four years.

Mainly that Trump wants to "detach" the US from Europe. Since 1492 (Columbus) America and Europe were a political/economical powerhouse. Making civilisation possible.

Now, Donald wants to make friends with other potentates, west of California. His preferrance to Autokratic Regimes is well documented. Always west of California: China, North Korea, Russia. Never East, as there are western democracies that oppose a "New Cesar" having started out as a well furished real-estate developper. No wonder, that Donald doesn't like the european concept of democracy.

These vacuous attempts to "understand" the mind of GOP voters are rather sad. There really is no attempt to do anything other than disparage and sneer. Also note that is is the left that demands absolute loyalty and agreement with their agenda.

Example: abortion.  The GOP includes pro-life, pro-choice, and many shades in between.  All are welcome as long as they are sincere in their beliefs and willing to engage in an honest conversation. The Democrats? Name me a pro-life Democrat.

And this is why the left is losing, and will lose in 2 weeks.

Abortion?

Financially underpriviledged women (the "Husband" has disappeared), must now travel to a state where abortion is still possible.

Often depriving them of their last financial means. Long live "American State Laws".

You may have a point here. In the US as well as in western Europe, parlamentary decisions were always in favor of the political/financial Elite for the last 20 years. (Don't hurt the financial Elite).

While "the working class" is satisfied to defend their meager pay increases over the last 20 years. The "little people" find it increasingly disturbing, why the "rich" are getting richer and they themselves are getting nowhere.

Maybe, what's happening in the US is just a harbinger of things to come in the rest of "the western world".

In that case "financially underpriviledged women" should stop having unprotected sex with bad men.

Being "financially underpriviledged" doesn't mean their brain stops working.

This is also where lefties can put their money where their collective mouths are. They can support charities that would help women in those situations, they can lobby to change their state laws, etc.

But my point was not abortion in particular. It was an example of where the GOP is becoming more of a 'big tent' party, while the Democrats expect lockstep compliance.

It is not that complicated.

The left would have you believe that the people that do not support Harris do not support her because they are stupid racists won't vote for a black or a woman, or a black woman.

Those same people would have you believe that people that support Trump are stupid racist cultists that worship Trump.

Nothing is further from the Truth.

One side wants open borders, mass illegal migration, more DEI, higher taxes, more welfare and men in girls' showers and in girls' sports. This side supports Harris.

One side wants the borders closed, no illegal immigration, no DEI, lower taxes, less welfare and men arrested for going into girls' showers. This side supports Trump.

Do not make it more complicated than it is.

That's it right there. Pretty simple.

A "big tent" principally characterized by the ever increasing number of people who have been expelled from it or have chosen to leave.

The Republican Party used to be a party of values, a believer in values, freedom, liberty. It is now a mess dominated by a bizarre combination of racism, right wing Christian evangelism, the corrupt practices of it's leader, and a mish mash of authoritarian intents.
