They're getting high tech, I flew out of Swampy 5 weeks ago, I was ushered by a very friendly smiling young woman to an e-passport auto gate, no need to line up at an immigration counter and no need to get an exit stamp in my PP.

Can it not complicate things if there is no exit stamp on your PP,  say next time you are back and need to do some immigration formalities ?

Wonder, if the E-gates also, at times, ask: "Why do you come so many times to Thailand?" 😆

Yes, with all their need of paper copies (despite everything being in their computer system), how will that work?

No problem at all. None of those in-country immigration formalities require you to present your last exit stamp. What is often required is the latest ENTRY stamp, and you'll still get that whenever you enter Thailand.
