Screaming
If old Biden would have announced that he was not going to run again more than a year ago and Kamala would not have opened her mouth, she might have had a better chance. But then Kamala would have had more chance to divulge her total lack of astute qualifications for the very important position of President of the United States. So she was doomed from the start. Better luck next time.
candide
The obvious reason is the impact of post-Covid economic problems, in particular inflation, which has affected each and every developed country, whatever the political colour of incumbents. Hummin
The main reason she lost? She is a mixed colour woman who had no specific roots? An annoying Karen who have nothing to do in politics, who is stupid and spread her legs on er way to the top. Almost to the very top, but it stopped there Warning ironic Bad timing and loosing to someone like Trump, you know they did a really bad run, and Trump taking a bullet the way he did, made his day! That was very an very American heroic way to get the voters on his side when he put his fist up after standing up. So he should thank the shooter for the great win

If the 82nd had gone to war and then another Airborne Brigade was needed, then the 36th was next in line for overseas deployment into combat!! Off topic rant ended. Roger, Wilco, Over, and Out! Yep. Members of the Texas National Guard were taken prisoner on Java when it fell to the Japanese in early 1942. I have never denied any economic indicator. My point has always been that inflation and price of energy are global phenomenon which have affected each and every country, and are not specific to the U.S. And also posted the relevant data about it. This is the main reason why all incumbents have lost vote shares in these countries, or even have been outvoted as in UK. The "great" aspect of the U.S. economy is that no other large developed country, confronted with similar levels of inflation, has enjoyed so much post-pandemic GDP growth. Compared to 2019, growth in the U.S. has been around 2 times higher than Canada, 2.5 times higher than the Eurozone, and 3.5 times higher than UK or Japan. (I have posted the data several times, I can repost it if you wish.) Edited Sunday at 08:13 AM by candide

By your answer, I believe I know some of your other "personas" Wrong. Trump lost Illinois because of Chicago. Soybeans do not come from Chicago. They come from downstate Illinois. Downstate Illinois voted Red with the exception of Champlain-Urbana, not surprising . Home of the University of Illinois where leftist professors indoctrinate their ideology to the easily manipulated. Worthy mention to East Saint Louis, IL. One giant ghetto so naturally they go blue. Soybean country. All red.
