maybe just doing it when not really horny

I think that's what sex addicts do. Addicted to the sex act and/or addicted to the orgasm part, but not really in the mood.

maybe having sex with somone that doesn't turn him on enough anymore

Sounds like his variety of partners avoids that.

Op can still do everything normally, but without cumming?

That's a medical problem. He's not creaming for some reason (no manufacture of semen) or the penis is not pumping at climax (something wrong with the muscles or nerves).

Why do boring old men

use this forum  as an outlet to opine at length about their sexual prowess. Or the  lack of it

Maybe for the same reason that so many other expats seem determined to share their stories over and over ad naseum about the best bj ever, the best tits ever, the hottest babe ever, how long and way too many details of all their sexual prowess.

Hey congratulations...you got laid in pattaya...now how about realize that nobody cares.

I suspect if someone feels that way then they aren't doing it right.

So it's only the thought that counts? That's like putting together a 1,000-piece puzzle for 2 weeks and then finding out the last piece is missing at the end.

You obviously don't know very much on this topic. I suggest doing some reading on tantric yoga and some of the Hindu philosophy about sex and orgasm, you might learn something useful.

This is a particularly important topic for men over the age of 60 as we pay a very heavy price for an orgasm, and the health benefits of cutting down on the frequency of orgasms are enormous.

From a lot of posts on AN I suspect a lot of guys don't know how to do it right, like Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield.

If that's the same Phil Stanhope,he once bummed me at an office party.

If you read the OP his problem isn't impotence.

If you had read the definition of impotence I posted earlier for one of our elites, you'd know that the OP's problem falls within the definition.

Brain exercises and a few different sensitive lubes can help, but mostly it is in your way of cultivating sexual thoughts and temptations.

To much porn and jerking off can be harming your sex life.

Cock ring is a great tool as well to feel more sensation, as well sex games with your partner.

Everyone have their kink

Still there is a real topic for some who experience what he describes.

It might be a mental thing for a female, but for men it's purely mechanical, however it's wrapped.

No. A common saying is that your sexiest organ is your brain. Most obviously, that's why watching porno, and specific activities, works better than not watching it during the same "mechanical" activity. The thoughts and emotions become ever more important with age as physical abilities decline for all the usual reasons. Teenagers don't need many--a good thing, as they don't have many anyway. We all wish we could be teenagers again knowing what we know now.
