A school van carrying nine students and two teachers overturned in Thung Rang subdistrict, Kanchanadit district, Surat Thani province, at approximately 14:10 on November 15. The crash occurred near the Paolo Stadium, leaving all 11 occupants injured, with two initially trapped inside the vehicle.

The van belonged to the Thida Mae Phra School in Krabi province and was en route back to Krabi from Nakhon Si Thammarat. Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and successfully extricated the two trapped individuals. All injured passengers were rushed to Surat Thani Hospital for treatment, where none of the injuries are reported to be serious.

Witnesses reported that the van driver appeared to lose control before flipping onto its side as it rolled down an embankment at the side of the road.

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation, but preliminary assessments suggest wet road conditions and speed, will have played a role in the crash. The police are working to gather more information from the driver and other witnesses to determine the sequence of events leading up to the incident.

Why can they never say it like it is - Driving too fast for road conditions or driver capabilities

The reality is that's not a school van but a pick-up without any seat belts and no protection.

I think Thailand can do better.

You must be blind if you think that minibus is a pickup truck.

And you must not use harsh words.

Indeed it is in this case a van obviously. In general Pickups do the job.

Can it, really? If it could (or would, more likely) there might be fewer incidents of this kind.

Yes, as it happened the same day in Pattani (3 dead)

Because a Thai could never ever admit a wrongdoing.
