Be fair. Those assaults were 25+ years ago. It was a different era. They would not  get a pass if they did it now.

Sexual assault is a part of the Egyptian culture, so he may have believed he was doing anything wrong.

In Egypt, sexual harassment is a major public threat against women for which there has been no sustainable policy or practice. Such harassment can range from verbal to physical—the latter of which can lead to severe harm and, in some cases, murder. According to a 2013 United Nations report, nine out of ten Egyptian women have been sexually assaulted—ranging from simple harassment to rape. This demonstrates a real problem that requires rapid and sustainable solutions, policies, and advocacy work. There has been extensive public discussion on the topic for the last couple of years, and the state has denied the breadth and severity of the problem.

Sexual assault is part of Egyptian culture?

In that case, if he did this in Europe, officials would apologize for the cultural insensitivity caused in arresting him, and let him go free.

The solution is simple: make the punishment for (provable) physical sexual assault punishable with hard labour for (5) years. Problem solved! No man will dare to go near a woman ever again.

See what money can do in a democratic country.

The same applies to Thailand, which is not a democratic country!

So same, same but different. Don't get hung up on democracy, it's just another name for mob rule and the mob is easily led, if you have 10 road sweepers and one professor of economics you'll have a road sweeper as your Finanz minister.

What about men when they grope bargirl in bars ?

Amputation ?

If they amputated all the bar girls that grope men in bars and even walking in the streets none of the bargirls would have any hands left.

It would make bringing the drinks over very difficult for them.

The question was whether people agree with amputation for groping , rather than who does the groping

Thanks for your question.

I vote no.

The bargirls enjoy it when I give them a grope and a bit of a tickle, finger up the date, fondling etc.

All part of the experience and a lot of fun and keeps the drinks flowing.

Be fair: Jimmy Savile was not Egyptian, and sexual harassment is a major public threat against women in the whole of North Africa, not only in Egypt.

And the Middle East and let's not forget India and Pakistan.
