Did Al Capone Miss a Trick?

Back in the 1930’s Alphonse Capone, a New York born American ‘Business Man’ was faced with an increasing array of legal issues.  Popular with many ‘ordinary’ Americans, he was often cheered as he attended baseball games and public events, he could have taken the route to becoming US President.

At the time, Herbert Hoover was a not particularly popular republican president and it may not have been too hard for Capone to become ‘influential’ within the Republican party.   Capone could have joined the party, made them ‘an offer they could not refuse’ and become the ‘GOP’ candidate.to become US president.

Running on a platform of ‘LADA’ (Let America Drink Again) he would have likely swept into power and his ‘legal issues’ would be expunged.

Given recent events around the current ‘President Elect’, surely Capone would have spent the next few years of his life in ‘The White House rather than in ‘The Big House’ (Alcatraz).
