Yingluck Shinawatra Set to Face Legal Proceedings Upon Return

Former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is expected to return to Thailand by Songkran 2025 to face legal proceedings without special privileges, according to ex-MP Worachai Hema. Yingluck, who fled in 2017 after being charged with negligence in a rice subsidy scheme, was criticized for facing unfair treatment following the 2014 coup, which allowed her assets to be seized before her trial concluded. Worachai emphasized Yingluck's right to return and called for unity and reconciliation, warning against politicizing her return.
