The decline is attributed to uncertainties stemming from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, impacting European visitors who typically form 80% of the area’s tourist demographic. Despite this, Khao San remains hopeful for a late surge in bookings, expecting up to 70,000 tourists for its New Year’s Eve countdown, potentially generating over 70 million baht.
