I think the same applies to the NYT. It trashed it's reputation (such that it had).

“There is no such a thing in America as an independent press, unless it is out in country towns. You are all slaves. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to express an honest opinion. If you expressed it, you would know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid $150 for keeping honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with…The man who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the street hunting for another job. The business of a New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to villify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon…You know this, and I know it; and what foolery to be toasting an “Independent Press”! We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the string and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes.”

-- Attributed to John Swinton on April 12, 1883, at the Twilight Club in NYC

The NYT won't be around in ten years.

They have been around for a very long time. I seriously doubt this will stop them. People like to read garbage, anger and hate stories from them. But they know already most is not to be believed.

This is rich coming from the whinger in chief who told 30,000+ lies during his last presidency.

Looking forward to the crying man baby's coming clown show. Will be laughing bigly.

You have no clue as your not an American, haven't live there and don't have any idea what your speaking about. He is a POS with a long history of fraud, deceit, lost lawsuits, bankruptcy, housing rental abuse, multiple sexual abuse charges, employee abuse and wage fraud and the list goes on and on. Those were all before he ran for any office.

I find it interesting that so many foreigners comment as if they know what type person he has been his whole life or what the people he's run against are all about. All you know is what you read in the media and on forums like this. Stick to your own country as they need your attention much more than America does.

Are you claiming Kamala and Hillary aren't a 'POS' .........

Cos' if you are, I ain't seeing it!

Trump has for decades tarnished his own reputation even before he got into politics,Numerous scams eg,Trump university. Not paying contractors.sexually asaulting women, envolvement in sex parties, false and illegal reporting on his numerous business operations, tax cheating, bankruptcies and the list goes on. The thesetat2013 blames the demorcrates. better defence would to blame his previous wives for his miserable low life bought on by his low moral standards.

..... and even with all that, he was still the better candidate.

Why so?

It is regarded, internationally and domestically as a "newspaper of record", it has some excellent journalists (including Maggie Haberman).

It is widely read, and bear in mind that whilst nationally Trump was supported by around 50% of the electorate (well just under that) that still leaves half of the electorate who don't support him, in New York itself the support is greater. It reports sound financial results.

Perhaps the greatest threat to the Newspaper, and broadcast media (MSNBC in particular) is Trump's threats to close them.

OK Kamala voter

Not American, don't have a vote.

If I was/did I would be an independent, as I most definitely am in the UK.

Doesn't take any partiality whatsoever towards Kamala Harris to see Trump and his crew for what they are!

Trump is absolutely right.

But in fairness, when your candidate is Harris you can't really tell the truth.

You can dress a swine in royal garments, however that does not change the nature of the creature. I see a lot of revisionist history going on with people making desperate attempts to try to clean up this man's history, which is chock-full of criminality, fraud ill behavior, billions upon billions of dollars stolen from unsuspecting small contractors, multi-billion dollar bankruptcies, and all kinds of malfeasance, bad behavior and scandals.

None of that has changed, everything remains the same, the only difference is now he has the power to attempt to clean up his reputation. And he has millions upon millions of millions willing to lie for him and claim that he's a saint. Fortunately there are still hundreds of millions around the world who are not buying into the whitewashing. Myself included. I know who he is, and nothing that he does or says can change that.

Will Trump ever apologize for calling the NYT "the failing" NYT?

Trump spent much of his political career insulting his opponents, denying the obvious, defending the indefensible, lying without shame, and never once apologizing.

The NYT should just ignore his demand for an apology. Actually, I wish the NYT would always ignore Trump. He's nothing but a lot of talk and a POTUS badge.
