In a heart-wrenching incident yesterday, two cherished family dogs were poisoned and killed in Chon Buri province. Chalawan Chutaphet from Bang Lamung district's Tambon Khao Mai Kaew mourns with his family following this devastating event.

The tragedy unfolded when the pets consumed fried chicken laced with poison, seemingly placed by an unidentified person with malicious intent. On November 27, Chalawan shared with reporters how he noticed someone on a motorcycle toss the tainted chicken pieces into his yard. His dogs, unaware of the danger, eagerly ate the food but soon began to convulse, struggle for breath, and sadly passed away in front of Chalawan and his family.

Although Chalawan hasn't filed a police report yet, he hopes the person responsible understands the cruelty of their actions. He stressed that if there were any grievances with his household or pets, a direct conversation would have been more humane than attacking innocent animals.

The incident has struck a nerve among pet owners in the community, raising concerns over their animals' safety. Poisoning incidents occasionally occur, but this intentional targeting of pets has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Obviously serious pests yapping all day when the so called owners are out. Whats the point of showing a pic of 2 different dogs?

Yes -- so then the owners' can say: Well WE never hear them barking.

there's some lung med for pneumonia. mutts can't distinguish it. And before "departure to the Rainbow" they do "funky chicken" seizures. Very entertaining

Sounds like Chalawan has even less brains than his dogs. Why the **** didn't he stop them eating the food he saw someone throw into the garden.

Most Thai dog owners are deaf and ignore their pets' noise which can go on for hours at night (in my experience).  I do not condone this offence but have often thought of tossing poisoned food in the direction of the owner.

My thoughts exactly...    Two possibilities here.

1)  A personal vendetta against the owner - and someone taking their sick revenge.

2) The Dogs were an absolute nuisance barking all day and the owner was completely careless about this, failed to respond to complaints and a neighbour was forced to take actions into his own hands.

As horrific as possibility 2 is...  a repeated lack of sleep can drive anyone over the edge...

It sad that he didn't just take the dogs and leave them at a temple 100km away instead of murdering them...  But the owners are very often complicit in the behaviour of their dogs and torment they cause on the neighbourhood.

Cyanide ??

How does one get cyanide so readily in Thailand ????...

Having read such stories before - I always figured it was rat-poison which was used for such evil actions.

Dogs aggressively chasing after motorcycle might have been a motive. Hard to believe owners have absolutely no idea what could have motivated someone to do this.

Cassava  is full of cyanide

Sweet cassava roots contain less than 50 mg per kilogram hydrogen cyanide on fresh weight basis, whereas that of the bitter variety may contain up to 400 mg per kilogram.
