A tyre explosion at a repair shop in Wang Nam Yen Subdistrict, Sawaeng Ha District, left a 47-year-old worker with a broken leg and severe injuries. The incident occurred at 14:00 on December 9 and was reported to the Ang Thong Emergency Response Centre via the 1669 hotline.

Rescue teams from Sawaeng Ha Hospital and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation arrived at the scene promptly. The injured man, identified as Watcharin, was found lying in pain with a fractured left leg and a large open wound on his ankle. First responders provided immediate aid before rushing him to Sawaeng Ha Hospital for emergency treatment.

Sawan, a 67-year-old customer who had brought a water pump trailer to have its tyre inflated, recounted the events. He explained that Watcharin, an employee of the repair shop, was inflating the tyre when Sawan began to think about warning him not to over inflate it.

However, before he could say anything, the tyre suddenly exploded. The metal wheel rim flew off and struck Watcharin’s leg, causing his injuries.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine if improper handling or equipment failure was the cause.

Was there not another tyre exploding only a day or two ago ?

When I first started working a few life times back, one of the guys working in our heavy vehicle garage was killed by an exploding trye, apparently he has either sitting on or straddling truck trye while inflating it, it exploded and the air entered his rear passage and virtually blew him apart, it was instant death.

Yes, in Prachinburi. Happens here alot as these small tyre repair shops never seem to have a proper cage surrounding the tyre when it's being inflated.
