What's with the pirate ship? I've been there, seen it and done it (10 years living in Thailand) and I/we are back in the UK now. Yes in winter it's cold but when you get down to it, the uk has far more to offer. Thailand is great for holiday's and we still have a house there but live full time, no!

You guys are whole island full of pirates. Look at the British museum

Thailand is famous for its sparkling temples, golden buddhas

That’s certainly the only reason I spend my 179 tax free days per year in Thailand, though I’m not entirely sure that my 3 terminally Woke sisters believe me…

Something tells me that there's not that many British pensioners relocating to Thailand to escape the gloom and cold who will be able to meet the financial requirements for the LTR visa...

Many can't meet the requirements for a Non O extension, but there are places in Soi Post Office that can help with that. The 3 month rule was introduced because Imm worked out that the same 800k was keeping half of the UK pensioners in Thailand.

Again, nothing new here. British and European men have been relocating to tropical regions for centuries. Lured by the sunshine, cheap living, and the availability of native women. If you read Maugham's novels, they're full of tales of Englishmen & Scotsmen & Frenchmen living the good life in SE Asia and Pacific islands.

An awful lot of them were ...er...non-binary.....

The freedom of Thailand must feel wonderful compared to the tyranny of Starmer's Britain.

Come to think of it, North Korea probably looks pretty good in comparison as well.

Shocking news ! <deleted>e weather in Europe! Lol...... but only issue i have with Thai is you got to live with <deleted> expats who generally haven't a pot to piss in. Apart from that it's great !

Yeah right. Brits were sooo much happier under the “ leadership “ of the disgraced former prime minister Johnson and the Trussbot eh?

Thats why UK returned a Tory government just 5 short months ago.

Oh hang on…..

North Korea? Only a <deleted> would be making that comparison. 13 years of Tory leadership could rot anyone’s brain.

Actually if you look at Starmer's current approval rating it is quite clear they WERE happier under the Conservative government.

Even Farage is more popular.

There is a petition ongoing as we read these post's. A petition needs 100,000 signatures for it to be debated in Parliment. So far this.  petition to oust Starmer has nealy 3 Million. It will be debated on Jan 6 2026 calling for him and his Chancellor to go for lying to the British public on the run up to the Grneral Election.

“With all this on offer it is little wonder the Brits are swapping Blighty for the Land of Smiles. What are you waiting for? Book that flight!”

Perhaps most are waiting for reality to match the fantastical picture that the “article” posits

Disagree strongly. Its 4c outside and dark at 4pm. Its magnificent, feels so fresh and the quiet is heavenly. Million times better than betting your swollocks off in a haze of motorcy smoke with awful music and horns blaring.
