Israel is of course entirely within its rights to withdraw its embassy in response to Ireland joining the ICJ petition, why it hasn’t done so for Egypt, Spain and Mexico is a curiosity. But perhaps Israel and its supporters should pause to consider Ireland’s point of view, not only is it just as entirely within Ireland’s rights to hold and express that view, it is also rooted in Ireland’s own history of oppression and hunger.
