A 66-year-old Swiss man endured a vicious attack by local youths in Pattaya, leaving him injured and his car severely damaged.

On the night of 15th December, Manoutcher Kamel Kamai, a Swiss national, reported the disturbing incident to the Pattaya City Police. With visible injuries, including facial swelling and cuts, Mr Kamai drove to the police station in tears seeking justice.

According to his statement, relayed through a translation app, the trouble started when he parked his Toyota Velos SUV on South Pattaya Road after dining nearby. Upon returning to his vehicle, he encountered a group of 4 to 6 teenagers surrounding his car.

The youths began smashing the car's windows with rocks. When Mr Kamai attempted to intervene, two of the assailants turned on him, kicking and punching him to the ground. Despite his pleas for mercy, the assault continued until a passerby intervened, prompting the gang to flee.

The police, having received Mr Kamai's detailed account, immediately broadcasted alerts to capture the suspects. Meanwhile, investigative teams have been dispatched to review CCTV footage and gather more evidence to track down the perpetrators for further legal action, reported Daily News.

Did he provoke them in any way?

It likely would not take much.... I was thinking they were perhaps lounging on his car and he asked them to move on!

Whatever the problem was, if he was polite and accommodating with the situation instead of sneering, they probably wouldn't have beat him up to this extent.

Did he sneer? I did not read that in the OP....you suggest that is what actually happened.

It is possible he behaved badly, like the other  Swiss National, Mr Fehr, infamous in Phuket for kicking a doctor off his steps...

These Swiss men are famous for the quick tempers in Thailand, kicking doctors, bashing elderly women in supermarkets etc
Swissy was given an attitude adjustment lesson in manners. Thai kids just go around bashing tourists for no reason.

Tourism has recovered since Covid, the easy visa policy has had its desired outcome.

Time to crackdown now and make it harder for these undesirables with no manners.

They make it harder on all us nice people here.

I would be beating up old men who came to my country and were renting my mothers daughters and sisters bodies too. Especially since the consequences are a slap on the wrist.

I don't understand how these guys haven't figured out yet, that confrontation is best avoided in these situations. What did he expect was going to happen exactly ?

The ones related to the woman who rent their genitals are better off financially.

Your incessant reliance on flawed sweeping generalisations, drawn from the actions of an insignificant minority, exposes a gaping void where critical thought ought to reside.

Were others to stoop to your level and generalise about AN posters based on your drivel, we’d all be branded as dim-witted cretins, a grim caricature of halfwits drowning mediocrity.

Worse still, your unfounded confidence in these crude conclusions serves only to underline the abyss of your ignorance, and highlights the depths of what you so glaringly fail to comprehend.

Says the farang apologist who has had in his own personal life close calls from upsetting Thai people which nearly resulted in violence.

if you think that these boys were not provoked in anyway and just decided to beat up an old farang you are dumber than I thought.

Well how about: if he was in a civilized country that is not based on fake words and gestures of politeness, the youths certainly wouldn't have beat him up to this extent.

It the civilized UK we probably would have stabbed him.

In the civilized USA they would have shot him.

In the Middle East they would have stoned him.
He is still standing, doesn’t look too bad, there was 6 of them so they definitely held back.
