Yes, it still exists but appears to be on life support.

I just wanted to recommend Kangaroo in Patpong. But according to Google Maps it is permanently closed.

Less than ideal for someone on his first trip to Pattaya, even if it was open.

Walkabout Creek used to be good but I don't think it's there anymore ? Corner of South and Third.

Here is the walkabout Creek now, it's long gone.

Same with Boxing Roo. It's been closed for years

Billabong Bar on the elbow of LK Metro is still going strong. Good for an early evening session with cheap beers and band (and freelancers). Good place to park to check out the LK Metro crowd

Also Kiwi & Wombat bar near soi 9 Jomtien beach road is a popular Aussie/NZ hangout

Frasers on way into Jomtien also an Aussie run bar for good food and sports

Boxing Roo has been closed for years. Roo Sign is still there if that's what you mean by life support?

Even if it was open, that's a long taxi ride from Pattaya 😆

Or in Pattaya🤔

No.....that bit is ideal for a first visit.

I do fail to see the attraction of a national, of any country, visiting Pattaya and wanting to spend all their time with other nationals of his country.

Hey Zen, If you are bringing your Aussie mate on his first trip you don't want to take him to only Aussie bar and talk b.s .to fellow australians. He can do that at home.Take him to a range of bars  so that he can meet people of all nationalities many who are interesting to talk to. Also after some "education" go to some girlie bars..you can't get bars like them in Australia !!!

Just push him alone in any girly bar - Soi 6 is probably a good start.

He will learn fast. He has to.

In addition to the info you are receiving on here re Aussie hangouts better advise your friend to watch out for plastered poms wandering about looking for trouble in the early hours.
