Is It Better to Date a “6” Than a “10” in Thailand?

Point being, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and everyone has vastly different tastes. So if you feel your wife is very beautiful then than that's all that counts. It is only how you perceive her beauty that is important. 

Thai people are not shy about commenting on the perceived beauty of a girl, so it's common to get regular, unsolicited confirmation about a partners looks.  

 

Mines a good 9.5 to 10 in Thailand and off the scale when I take her to visit my country.  But she also has a pleasant character (for 3 weeks out of every 4 anyway).

When was the last time somebody told you that your girlfriend is ugly? Thai or otherwise? 
 

There have been times when Western friends have asked my opinion about a Thai girl that they thought was beautiful (and I didn't) but I would always complement the girl's beauty anyway.

Maybe you missed the word 'unsolicited' or perhaps you're projecting your own experience with women, but whatever the reason you're determined to be negative, and that's your choice, but it does not reflect my personal experience in Thailand.

Solicited or unsolicited it doesn't matter. The result will be the same. You ask somebody if your girlfriend is pretty they will say yes. You meet some friends with your girlfriend and they want to compliment you on your choice of a partner so they will tell you that she's pretty. It's all the same. It might be sincere or it might not. But nobody's ever going to tell you that your girlfriend is ugly, even if she is.

Fully agree. I can't remember the last time I saw a Thai girl who was a 10, let alone an 8. My head rarely turns anymore for Thai women. If my head turns it's usually a foreign entity.

Most Thai woman that are 6-7's are dating men that are 1-5 men !, Those thais that are 8 or 9 will be dating men 6-8, I would say only men that are 9-10  would be dating a Thai woman rated a 10 ! Know your bracket, stay in your bracket, no heartaches !!

 

I'd say I was a 6-7 for my age compared to most of you out here, but my wife is only a 5 to most of you - but that said my wife is a 10/10 with her heart, so I dropped my standards a little for her LOL

No, there is no way a 9 or a 10 would ever be considered a 3, by anyone. 

 

People who say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, well, they're wrong. There are rules to beauty. And some women are so stunningly beautiful ANYBODY would say they're a 10.

 

Yes, there are personal preferences of course. But a 10 is a 10 for anybody in the modern world. I am of course excluding tribes removed from modern life where bizarro beauty rules apply. 

 

But for us in the modern world the numbers rating makes perfect sense and if anyone is in any doubt what a 10 is, happy to post pics.

I was recently attracted to an 8 or 9. Very beautiful. And lo and behold, there's at least half a dozen other guys in her sphere. 

Never seen that before. 

Sometimes they really ain't worth the hassle, but try your luck.

Why, why, why are soo many obsessed with physical appearance? Sure, a person have to take care of themselves and try to be attractive. I am not saying that dating ugly women is preferred, but a 6 will not be ugly. Let´s just say you don´t go below 5 and you will be fine.

You really have to ask yourself something. Where do you find real beauty? Is that in a slim and firm body and a perfect make-up face? Or, might it be in a combination of totally acceptable attributes and kindness, compassion and caring.

The problem is that attributes like kindness, compassion, caring only are of relevance if you are physically attracted to her in the first place. A gal can be Mother Teresa, but if she looks like her her kindness won't make you want to be with her. 

 

It's the same with women, btw, if the guy is attractive different rules apply. If he isn't it's sexual harassment. 

 

I guess nature built us for physical attraction.

Understanding the culture to begin with goes a long way then you might not make such a statement, do I really need to say it? and by all accounts its not just an asian thing. And one more....if you fly low to the ground you get dirty, same with the types of women you get.

Im happy to have a wife who is about same level as myself. Makes everything less complicated, and even bether if you love her for who she is now and will be in future.

The rating system is for mongers and humans that dont understand attraction.

 

The Japanese spend a lot on the packaging of gifts than sometimes what's in the package, this example should give you a clue, the so called 9s and 10s packaging is to attract, few if any will look like a 10 if you stick them in sloppy clothes no make up flat shoes  looking like they just did a days work in a rice field. 

 

Some of those you say are a 6 can look like an 8 done up, as for some of the guys beating around Thailand with 3s well in my eyes they wouldn't suite me, but im not foolish to think that there is not feelings and attraction from both sides.

 

For me my preference has always been for women well groomed and who know how to dress well, theres plenty around, especially in BKK, now these women are not going to look like a model every hour of the day but often enough, I learned a valuable lesson when I was about 30, there was this office girl who use to walk through the factory and often passed me, waist down she was exceptional, flat chested and a bit of a honk for a nose I thought at that time ugly,  for 6 months we never spoke then one day we did, from that time onwards I got to know her fairy well, her personally shone through like a star, the lesson was never judge a book by its cover this woman ended up looking very attractive to me.
