Yes ... convenience.   Same reason there are bars, massage shops & 7-11s.

Personally have no need or desire for the first 2, and just 7-11 comes in quite handy, when O&A :coffee1:

The reason there are so many weed shops is except for the rent its a pretty low overhead business......And with high prices no mush needs to be sold to turn a profit......And anyone who is ok with paying a 1000-1500 baht bar fine is also ok with paying 300 baht a gram....

Coincidentally I found one that I think is better than the online options.

Why?

Fair price. Excellent and FRESH product which you can see and smell how FRESH.

Where is it? When you talk about restaurants you put all the details about where it is and how to get there.

These 'cannabis shops' aren't really. They are a front for old fashioned fish & chip shops that the Brit government subsidizes. To avoid drawing attention and possible investigation they just say that they sell cannabis. If you insist on buying cannabis in one of these shops it will be expensive as they have to run down the street to buy your order and that takes time ( and they have to  pay street rates  😞)

I agree 100%.........The weed shops are secretly selling fish and chips....

Pattaya has many fish and chips addicts who need their fix.....And they dont mind going to jail for buying black market fish and chips from weed shops..

It's nonsense anyway.

The prices charged in the tourist weed shops are ludicrous, so they probably cover their costs with a couple of customers a day.

Still cheap like everything else when on holiday tho innit....

True.

There's also the accessibilty - when I lived in South Africa I smoked every single day for four years and it is the same when I am in Thailand six months a year.

When I go home to the UK I wouldn't even know where to start looking for it and I would imagine that it is rather expensive and so I simply don't bother. It's not addictive - well, certainly not the weed that I have bought!

I'm the same in UK - no idea and not interested. I used to know people who "smoked dope" but I never got into it partly because I never smoke anything.

I'm thinking of trying some more cannabis "cookies" or similar on my next trip to Pattaya  - one thing concerns me is that apparently it stays in your system for a very long time, so eating some a short time before returning to UK might make me guilty of drug-driving which has become a major issue in UK.

I just need to get some figures on those times (is it days, weeks, or ???), and most of the websites I've seen contradict each other. Plus,  of course, there's the matter of product strength to consider.
