Adolescence

Crime--Netflix 4 episodes  IMDB 8.4   This is worth looking at-- all out    Created by Stephen Graham --- Lead actor Stephen Graham

When a 13-year-old is accused of the murder of a classmate, his family, therapist and the detective in charge are all left asking what really happened.

It's a hard watch, but totally get why it's #1 on Netflix right now

Just watched first one so far, amazing how they shot the whole thing in one take, or was there some AI trickery in it?

Overrated in my opinion, i was left wondering what the whole fuss was about. A lot of the scenes seemed dragged out unnecessarily. Whole thing could have been edited down to two episodes max.

Yes, it is superb.  One of the best things ever shown, certainly on Netflix.  Seriously thought-provoking, especially for parents of adolescents.

Sorry, I thought it was poop. Armed swat team home invasion to arrest 13yo kid is nonsense. And why didn't they arrest the black girl for gbh after her unprovoked attack?

Didn't she do in the school exactly what he did in the car park?

I thought the last episode was one of the most astonishing pieces of TV I've ever seen.  Technically amazing and very emotional.  I was in bits at the end.  Historic television.  👏

Anora was amazing. This was an astonishing film, with performances that were written by adults for adults, which is so refreshing in today's world of American film. They actually showed nudity, they actually showed people having sex, they showed that not everybody in America is prudish, which was so wonderful and it's something that Hollywood just can't wrap its tiny little mind around. You knew this had to be a an independent production, you knew that this wasn't financed by a big studio, because the content was simply too mature, and too adult like.

The interaction between Mikey Madison and Paul Weissman was precious. He played this gentle, kind-hearted thug, stuck working for a junk family, who did a great job of displaying the moral bankruptcy of the average billionaire, much less Russian oligarch.

Mikey Madison was pitch perfect and absolutely deserved the Academy Award. It was a brilliant performance, the entire film had this pitch and intensity that just never let up and it was both tragic and beyond belief for many many sustained moments. Sean Baker likewise deserved his Oscar as the direction was flawless. This was an utterly enjoyable film to watch.

Baker’s subtly brilliant film knows how difficult it is to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, especially when those bootstraps are constantly being cut off by the people at the top.

Dope Theives...

First episode was good.

# 2 not so good.

# 3 I gave up.

yeah .. surprised it’s a Ridley Scott production. I will continue until episode 8 in the hope it will improve.

‘Gemstones was definitely worth a watch, my wife couldn’t believe it was “the guy from Lotus” with his prosthetic penis.

So, here’s one to avoid like the plague !!

LOL: Last one Laughing U.K. - Season 1

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt35050741/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

You might like the odd episode of 8 out of 10 cats ( countdown ) or Would I lie to you or any other U.K. show full of the same old tired comedians.

These shows have some high points though, David Mitchell’s rants or Bob Mortimer’s absurd stories, in reality since the demise of Sean Lock they are just a bunch of second rate performers who don’t have proper jobs.

But this latest offering of “ U.K.’s top 10 comedians “ is just an insult to our comedic intelligences.

I mean who are Roisin Conaty, Rob Beckett, Joe Wilkinson, Judy Love, Joe Lovett and a bunch of nameless others hoping to entertain with a game show where the idea is not to make the others laugh ??

If that wasn’t bad enough guess who is in charge ? ….. yup Jimmy Carr !!

IMDB gives it an 8.1 rating but expect that to drop like a stone when the reviewers actually watch this dross .

Yes, I did take one for the team and watch the first 10 minutes but only so you don’t have to, you are welcome !!

Bradley Walsh: Egypt’s Cosmic Code

BW, in case you didn’t know is a U.K. actor more commonly known in light entertainment and soap opera but now a popular game show host.

Apparently having a passion for the wonders of Egypt, the pyramids in particular, he sets off to try and discover the mysteries surrounding these ancient monuments.

An interesting show with the usual facts and figures about the timeline of the ancient world including the myths commonly associated with who created these amazing buildings.

Spoilt only by Bradley trying to turn it into a stand up routine and at times being extremely silly.

Michael Palin he ain’t !!

This will appeal more to bored British housewives than serious Egyptologist students.

Its a shame, i would say if you like BW’s humour then give it a go, if not give it a wide berth !!

White Lotus finally ramps up in episode 5.  The main complaint about the White Lotus in general is that it tends to be really slow in the beginning episodes as all the pieces are being put into place and the backstories of the ensemble cast are slowly revealed. But the first two seasons really packed a punch at the end and I'm expecting the same thing from this season.

As an aside, even those who don't like it might want to take a look at episode 5. Sam Rockwell makes a special guest appearance and goes into a long monologue about his fixation with Asian women that leads to some pretty sordid actiivties with the ladyboys, which just goes to show what Thailand can do to you. Walter Goggins expression as he listens is priceless.
