Great piece of funk

watch with DuckDuckGo for no adverts

RIP Viv

Here's Nigel with his breakthrough theory on how the early white settlers out West were heavily influenced by Indonesian folk music.

'68-'71  I went to boarding  school in county Rutland, UK. It was/is a stunningly beautiful area with lovely limestone villages and rolling hills. In the summer at weekends we would get on our bikes and pedal away, sometimes stopping at pubs, other times chatting up girls at a nearby boarding school.

Sometimes we ended up visiting a local church, sitting in a graveyard, enjoying the wonderful summer/ early evening sunshine you sometimes get in England with the birds chirping and a sense of peace settling over all of us.

And we had Floyd's early albums, bought my mail order from Virgin's tiny distribution office in London.

Listening to these songs from More always reminds me of those summer days, days you think will never end.

OK, it's been awhile, posting here

But like to introduce this woman.

She was unknown but did lots of experiences in music and then really the greatest on earth.

Like Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder,  Elton John. Quit some names.

Last sunday saw her on tv, performing with her band, just shown one number, but jeepers.

So now on youtube looking for her. Maybe you know her? Judith Hill.

Smoking carrots, what a woman and performer, really enjoyed her music.

This is a link and brings up a whole studio live recording.

A power woman like Beth Hart, Tina Turner. She can really handle the guitar, but is multi instrumentalist. Her music funky , jazzy, bluesy, rocky, all combined with a golden voice.

Well at least , I think. On the keyboards, you see her mother !

Enjoy

Great guitar player, SRV, had to listen to him as I was browsing youtube and popped up.

ANd so I rolled into this man

Great songs.

Then this band, made a hell of LP

Sorry couldnt find a good live performance, so took the one from the album.

Ozzy with his American band, with Randy Rhoads on guitar.

Sadly that guitar player died young, 25.

Ozzy recently said goodbye with his British band Black Sabbath in a concert.

Well the prince of darkness is already 77, amazing though.

Well another special musician Buckethead.

Long time no one knew who he was, but is high end guitar player.

There were some thoughts, but it is Brian Carroll.

Not that I knew him, once was pointed to him by a college to watch on youtube.

Today popped in my brain again, just like that.

Made a 300 solo albums ! Also had an appearance with Gun's & Roses.

He doesnt sing, it is only guitar ! Picked this on youtube

And in the line came up to this woman, incredible player

So got intrigued and found more, she is in a band Polyphia.

There is more of this band on youtube and worthwhile listening too.

THey are highly skilled and make lovely music. I think.

Hahaha, my bad, thought it was a woman, but no, its a guy, it is Tim Henson.

Sorry TIm. Found out by more browsing on band.

The band even exist already since 2010.

Once I put Matteo Mancuso in this section, but with finding Polyphia, see there are way more wizards on guitar.

Polyphia also played with Jason Richardson, so checked him out.

But Jason likes another way of playing, shredding.

3 NUMBAS thanks for the invaluable advice about DuckDuckGo. YouTube were starting to send me nuts on my laptop with the number of adverts per song

For my phone I downloaded CleanTube app- wonderful, no ads!

Farewell then Ozzy. Saw you at Hull City Hall back in 1972. My ears rang for days

Dedicated hard rock guitar hero, yet a teetotaller all his life!

Unbelievable, surely he deserves a pint or two after that performance, lol.
