Grab and Food Panda Blocking (some or all?) Thai bank debit cards
Curious timing but I've been requested by Bangkok Bank to update my personal info on their app. Nothing has changed in my personal information. So I went to the place on the app to confirm that and it said I must go to a branch and show my passport. Geez Louise! -

Phuket's Transformation: Becoming Thailand's Premium Tourist Hub
Little Miss Muffet should have driven through the terrible stop & go traffic in Cherng Talay and then headed down to the traffic clogged Chalong Circle and tried to navigate Rawai to see what Phuket traffic is really like, instead of sitting in a meeting. They keep building and building in Rawai, but no traffic "plan". Not a comprehensive development plan. Just a wish list. A plan has actual realistic goals and objectives. As outlined below. These poor people do not have a clue. I feel really sorry for the regular folks. A goal is an achievable outcome that is generally broad and longer term while an objective is shorter term and defines measurable actions to achieve an overall goal. While different, the two terms are often used in unison when working on a project. This is because both are essential to planning and executing a project. -

Desperate Russians using wooden logs for protection
The entire point of vehicles like APCs is that they were designed for a fast moving mobile war, and traded off protection for speed. In a close battle conflict like Ukraine more protection is an acceptable compromise. Given that I doubt Russia has loads of spare reactive armour, wood is entirely appropriate. Good protection against small arms. Spare track is also used where it is available. -

Grab and Food Panda Blocking (some or all?) Thai bank debit cards
I tried yesterday to use my Kbank card again. First I tried to activate for online shopping using their bank's portal for that. Failed. Not sure if related as these apps aren't technically online shopping. Then I tried entering again on the apps. Failed. F em. -

Revenue Department boss calls on tax residents in Thailand to file 2024 returns by March 31
Bingo. Nothing has changed from TY 2023 to TY2024, requiring a unique new form. In fact, if you look at the form for 2023, you'll see it's just boilerplate - for Tax Year at the top of the page, there's just a blank line to be filled in (unlike a US 1040, with an embedded tax year). Thus, why would you expect a new form for TY2024, since you just fill in the blank lines with your new self-assessed numbers -----? And, yes, your self assessment, banged against Por 161 and 162 guidance, would be different on a boilerplate 2023 form vs a 2024 form. But, hey, we're talking about a form full of blank lines, but categories thqt haven't changed between tax years. So, if you're going to file in person, quit waiting for a new form -- the online filers have already shown there's no difference in format from 2023 to 2024. So, don't expect a new hard copy boilerplate form. I know this observation will disappoint those wanting a new form, with lines to include non assessable income. Lord knows why they want this...but, fortunately, TRD is only interested in numbers pertinent to generating income for Thailand. -

Chinese Model Mysteriously Disappears at Thai-Myanmar Border
What a great plan! Kidnap a (semi) famous actor/model to work in your phone scam center, calling Chinese speakers who would know that the (semi) famous person calling them to sell crypto timeshares has been kidnapped. Somebody needs a new publicity agent. -

Does Trump completely lack decency and compassion?
"On November 4, 2014, California voters approved Proposition 1, the Water Quality, Supply, and Infrastructure Improvement Act of 2014. The measure enacted the Water Quality, Supply, and Infrastructure Improvement Act of 2014. Proposition 1 authorized the issuance of $7.12 billion in general obligation bonds for state water supply infrastructure projects, such as public water system improvements" "A "yes" vote supported issuing $7.12 billion in bonds for water supply infrastructure projects, including; water storage, dams, and reservoirs, drinking water quality improvements, and water recycling and flood management." All anyone needs to know about the incompetence of Gavin and California government is look at the high-speed rail project. Proposition 1A passed in 2008 Awarded federal stimulus funds in 2010 Construction contracts began to be awarded in 2013 Construction stated January 2015. Original projected completion: 2021 Original budget: $10 billion Current projected completion: 2030-2033 Current projected budget: $28-35 billion Most recent update, not from the state: ''The Merced–Bakersfield line is expected to be finished between 2030 and 2033, with passenger service starting around that time. However, the project's CEO has said that another $100 billion may be needed to finish the project, and some engineers and project managers believe it may not be completed in the 21st century.'' Ledd than 250km of rail. It is worth noting, that over 160 years ago, we, the United States, built the 3,000km transcontinental railroad in five years, basically with picks, shovels and explosives. -

New Update Phuket Immigration Retirement extension
I did my retirement extension December 23 in Chiang Rai. I had a map with the coordinated on it but I did not give it to them and they did not ask. Different office, different requirements . I went to my Bangkok Bank branch the morning of the 23rd a had them print out an updated statement which only had transactions through the 22nd. They also updated my bank book with an entry dated the 23rd indicated balance brought forward. I did not need to do a transaction. I also got the bank letter. With regards to the OP point 4 - copies of previous extensions, I provided a copy of all of the used pages of my passport which included a number of previous extensions. The only difference this year was that the IO asked to see my bank passbook. For proof of where I live I provided a copy of my yellow book and pink ID card. I don’t know about other offices but I was able to make an appointment. In Chiang Rai I don’t think very many people do this because I had to ask for the supervisor because everyone else didn’t know that appointments could be made.
