Transgender Woman Assaulted by Foreigner on Pattaya Beach
I have been visiting Thailand since 2006. And only once I had a serious incident in Phuket. I was walking to my hotel at night and a ladyboy approached me. He hugged me with one arm, tried to kiss me. It was a distraction. And while I was busy trying to push his painted face away from my white T-shirt, he reached into my pocket with his other hand. And almost managed to pull out my money. Since then, I treat ladyboys as inferior and try to stay away from them. I apologize if I offended anyone's gender feelings here. -

Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing into Utility Pole in Chonburi
It looks like we mean 02.30 here. Been a lot of such incidents of late. I think this is a bit of road I use quite often... ever since a U-Turn on Hwy 36 was closed off. Head down towards Bangkok to the next underpass to come back... then pass the toll booths where the coachload of Russians careered into an SUV. You can mark most junctions, U turns and corners etc with recent accidents these days! -

Dispute with landlord re moving out/ accused of "breach of lease/contract"
It seems like you won’t be paying them anything further and also that you won’t be getting your security deposit back nor any refunds for overpayment on utilities markups, if any. I’d have purposely fallen a month behind on rent before giving them the 30 days notice, knowing in advance that wouldn’t be getting your security deposit back, as one rarely ever does. I’d just move out and not give them a forwarding address and call it a lesson learned. -

You / me / or anyone else cannot draw any conclusions from the above. But I will give you something to ponder. I joined the original tax thread when it was up to about Page 85. I said on that thread that the RD could put a halt to all the speculation by issuing a blanket statement, along the lines of " For people who are tax residents, from DTA Countries, carry on as normal, nothing has changed for you " Over the course of 2024, there has been video after video by people like Mr Hart, expatthaitax and a few others. Cannot recall anything coming from the RD. And whilst I am not going to critice the above 2 in anyway, and I believe that they are acting in the best interest of the expat community, they are not the RD, who are the entity that really matters. We are now in 2025, the tax filing season has started and still not a word from the RD. I could speculate, but I will refrain. I'll just say, that I will not be surprised if something drops soon that may well cause a few ripples. The silence from the RD has been deafening, and sometimes that is not always a good thing. -

Kamala police known for taking bribes, just ask a swiss guy that used to own a bar down the square. Who is still seen in that area often out of his face. Was arrested with a lot of stuff, got his wealthy parents to pay 1.2 million baht get me out of jail fees.. on the day he was released was seen trying to do another deal at a bar down the beach. He was in business with the police bagman tea money collector.- 1

Trump Criticizes Gov. Newsom’s Wildfire Management Amid Devastating California Fires
As a long time resident of CA it is more than just climate change. The city and county Los Angeles along with the leadership in Sancramento have made decision that did not help in fighting these massive fires. For instance where is the clearing of the fuel in he Santa Monica mountains? Pacific Palisades (a very wealthy and mostly Democratic part of LA) is essentially gone. Firefighters reported many times the fire hydrants were dry and the ones with water had low pressure. Was this caused by climate change? The next major problem will be insurance claims. Many insurance companies pulled out of CA because the leaders in Sacramento put price caps on insurance premiums in high risk areas. In the end federal government will have to bail out CA to rebuild. Lastlly I am not a Trump supporter and did not vote for him. This event might have consequences for the next mayoral election for Los Angeles because Karen Bass did not look good while she hustled back from Ghana to lead her city because she was attending the inauguration of the Ghanian president. Unless she has a personal connection to Ghana then why she was there? Also, the California National Guard was just called for. This should have done within the first few hours. This delay is not on Biden or Trump. This delay is on Gavin Newsom. After all as the Governor he is the Commander in Chief of the California Air and Army National Guard. Army National Guard aviation units are equipped for fire fighting.
