A 24-year-old man accused of shooting a 23- year-old man dead at a petrol station in Songkhla has surrendered to police, claiming he acted out of anger after being insulted.

The fatal shooting occurred at approximately 05.00 on 5 January, at a petrol station on Kanjanavanich Road in Prik subdistrict, Sadao district. CCTV footage captured the suspect firing eight shots at the victim at close range, killing him instantly.

On 7 January, at 11.00, the suspect, identified as Mr. Anuchit Buu, known by the nickname "Kea," turned himself in to police at the Songkhla Provincial Investigation Unit in Hat Yai, accompanied by his lawyer and relatives. He surrendered to Pol. Col. Dusit Pormromsin, Songkhla Provincial Investigation Superintendent, and Pol. Lt. Col. Ekaphop Musikapuk, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation.

Mr. Anuchit had been wanted on an arrest warrant issued by the Na Thawi Provincial Court for three charges: premeditated murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying a firearm in a public place without a permit or valid justification.

During questioning, Mr. Anuchit partially admitted to the charges, claiming he shot the victim, Mr. Nadol Sutthimit in a fit of rage after being insulted. However, he provided no further details.

Police transferred the suspect to Sadao Police Station, the jurisdiction where the crime occurred, for further questioning and to proceed with legal action.

Investigators from the Songkhla Provincial Police and Sadao Police Station had been working to gather evidence and track down the suspect. CCTV footage and witness testimonies led to the identification of Mr. Anuchit as the perpetrator, prompting the court to issue the arrest warrant.

The investigation is ongoing as police prepare their case against the suspect.

😮unbelievable 😳

He is not a suspect, but has been proven to have shot someone, as the surveillance camera shows! He belongs on death row.
