I have looked at older posts on here from 9-10 years ago and trying to check the price now.

Just been quoted 6000 baht per meter.

1.80 height

220 meters total

1,320,000 baht

I was expecting 8-900,000

I expect it can be done cheaper but they say they use larger steel rods than most builder.

I expect I can get one done cheaper but will it last ?

Does 6000 baht per meter sound expensive as to me It does.

This includes plaster and paint but then I would think it should.

2 meters high, 1 linear meter, and I'd expect to pay ฿1500-฿2000 per, sealed & painted.  Not including a gate or entry doorway.

Anything more than ฿440k is a silly rip off price.  IMHO & experience.

I thought the same but looking back on here almost 10 years ago they are charging 3k per meter.

Might get some more quotes

Suggestion as someone who built a 2m wall around the property, DONT! nake it a full height block/render. There are now better options.

Two suggestions,

1. only do the wall 4 ft. then have some kind of panel on top of the wall between the posts, this will stop it "leaning" or potentially falling over (in years to come), as is so common here.

2 There is a reletively new system that has post and slide in concrete panels. faster and way cheaper.

Obviously, like all building work it depends on your location. groundwork and WHO you get to do it.

Many thanks .

The new system doesn't look as clean but for at least half the area you won't even see it so that is a good idea.

We're not in HH, but 100 kms south of, and I wouldn't expect to pay more than ฿2k per meter, ฿3k max, and only 4 (?) yrs since we had ours built.  That was, 2m high & 60 meters @ 80k = ฿1334 per and high price at the time.

If you're more in an urban area, take a ride to a bit more rural area, and cruise around see if anything being built.  Have the wife/GF ask about price, before you (out of sight) take a peek at the work.

Should have a nice large block and or concrete base w/steel, and same for columns and top beam w/steel.  Doesn't have to be the thickest rebar around, since not supporting any weight, and it's not going to fall down in 40 kph wind.

We don't get major or even feel minor earthquakes here.  If they'll be doing the painting, usually will, pay extra, so they don't add ANY water to the primer/sealer or paint.

AND ... make sure they don't 😎

My recollection from reading something somewhere about four years ago was around 2.2k per linear meter. Recall it was for a remote area so local rural area price.

I paid 220,000 four years ago for a boundary wall 180m.  Brick wall with regular concrete posts every 2.5m.  Plastered and painted.  No cracks, no movement.  As strong and solid today as it was four years ago.  I live in rural Isaan.  Prices may vary where you live.

6k a metre is a rip off, just had a 9 blocks high wall built 8metres long including a exit door for 20k including labour, steel reinforced concrete posts, in Isaan.

Suggest you ask around and buy the materials yourself as I did and then negotiate the labour.

Our lot is about 73 x 50 meters.  A 180cm high wall around the whole thing cost about 1 million baht.  Lots of stainless steel on the wall facing the road though.  Plus they pounded pillars 4 meters into the ground first.  So the cost was about 4K/meter.

This was in Ratchaburi.

Now that's more like it.

3/4k is about what I was hoping to pay without the stainless.

Waiting on a couple of new quotes today.

Kinda indicates the kinda money people waste on a wall. Thais seem to like grand walls

Correct,i'm a bricklayer and reckon i'd make lots more money building the perimeter wall than the house itself.

The first photo is an attractive design. I see so many ugly concrete brick walls here. It is like the creation of a prison wall. Yikes. Nasty. Go for something appealing.

But also,  costs will always be less if one has some experience in what is involved.  Even never having done a build here (Thailand) .... one can always learn by going to sites and watching and asking,  and learning the prices of things like building blocks, concrete mix ( for the foundation) , and of course how deep the posts are set in your area.

I have always chosen local builders , after seeing their work elsewhere.  ALSO, I buy the materials and pay for labor .  Many builders do not want to do it that way... but then you had better be very sure EXACTLY what the materials and specs are !

Anyway... like LA .... experience and looking for a "reasonable price"  can save a lot.

My wall (3 years ago)  are strong blocks,  with a very large base (kahn) with strong rebar (3 hun dtem and  then 2 hun plawk lek ( the smaller squares )

labor per meter :  700 baht     each section aprox 50 concrete blocks at 6 baht each.

Concrete mix for base (240 mix , if i remember:  1900 baht per cu meter

and then of course sand and concrete for the mix to put up the blocks

ok... probably too much info,  as easier to let the builder do it all  .   BUT..... my cost all in was less than 1400 baht per meter.    So, if paying for all to be done by builder, I would never go more than 2000 baht .

BTW:  This is my first full concrete wall ... i had others before... and its strong and keeps unwanted critters of all types on the outside looking in  😉
