My experience with right wing whites is that they think liberals are merely confused, self loathing and misguided. I don't think they know how much the liberals fear and hate them though.

It's a very interesting region. I think they are  Scots-Irish people are mostly got left behind. Kind of like the Amish. Sad to hear they're struggling with drugs though like the native peoples. Where I live in Thailand it is very poor but people live good lives, not stressed at all and thriving. Being poor in and of itself is not really not as bad as Americans make it out to be.

It seems odd to live in Thailand and not enjoy what's locally available. 

 

I have considered asking people if they voted for Trump as a way to select and reduce the  amount of handyman work we do in 2025.  

It is sad times in America but let's hope these trump voters get a good education in economics and learn  the importance of casting their votes.

Yes a time I recall.  We dated people from our own town.  Usually with the same skin tone and upbringing.  There weren't homeless, transgender, and gays stayed in the closet.   The public education system was working and everyone spoke English.  No social media.

Thank you. Well, I guess I'm not your traditional monger because I'm not out there to party, get involved, spend much time with anyone, etc. I'm just there to scratch an itch and then leave. In real life I have had all types of meaningful, long term relationships imaginable, if there is even such a thing, and I've figured out (after decades) what works best for me. It's not a perfect system, and it may not be for everyone, but what is/does?

But it's also good that I have a few bad experiences (like last night) from time to time to help me always keep things in perspective and remind me that they are not there because they want to be. It also helps me from falling down that rabbit hole and ever thinking that there is something more to it. I guess to keep yourself on track with it you also need to take a glass half full approach and always look for a silver lining in it, even when it wasn't a good experience. 
 

As for your situation and not being able to pull the trigger most of the time, I deal with that quite often too. I'm not sure that it's for the same reasons, but often I'm fearful of a bad experience and that's what causes my hesitation. But knowing that 1 out of 3 is likely to be really good, I plonker on.
 

In your case though, I can't understand how you would be driven to pull the trigger with a 60+ year-old woman? For me, it is so much easier to pull the trigger with a 20+ year-old brain dead sex worker than a post menopausal grandma. Anyway, best wishes with it all.

I'm not convinced that Reiki works, but I'm not convinced that it doesn't work either. 

I keep an open mind about it. One day I might explore it and study it to see if it's bs. 

But just because you don't understand sth, doesnt mean the other guy is a "nutter". 

But of course there must be a lot of charlatans out there claiming they are Reiki healers since most people don't understand what it is.

I agree. I find intelligent women quite sexy, which means I would never be attracted to a MAGA-ette. There is zero intersection in the Venn diagrams of "Intelligent women" vs "MAGA-ettes". It's the empty set. Besides, they tend to be obese, like their messiah, and fat shows total lack of discipline and self control.
