Additional Visa Requirements ?

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

I will be making a trip back to the UK shortly.  I was issued a Non Immigration O Visa back in November with multiple entries - is there anything 'additional' I'm obliged to do when passing out and back through Suvarnabhumi immigration (ie, anything more than show passport at the usual desks, collect suitcase and clear off) ? I've been led to believe 'no' but was hoping for clarification.

Additionally, is this new e-Visa something I'm required to obtain when returning to Thailand or is my UK passport/Non Imm visa sufficient?

Many thanks in advance,

Presumably you mean you got a 12 month extension together with a multi re-entry permit?

The only thing you need to do is make sure they stamp you in correctly when you return, i.e. to the expiry date of the re-entry permit.

The e-visa isn't new.  It does not impact you in any way.

What do you have.

You stated a Non O.

That is a single entry visa that provides a 90 day permission of stay stamp.

Did you subsequently obtain a 12 month extension and multiple reentry permit?

Perhaps an agent did all this for you.

Yes - obtained via agent, expiring Feb '26 incl multiple entries

So no need of  e visa and just make sure returning expiry stamp mirrors current one (Feb '26) ?

No need to do anything on departure or return.

It's polite to mention to immigration that you have reentry permit.

When you return to Thailand and immediately after being stamped in check the stamp correctly states "admitted till" Feb 26.

Even when obtaining boarding pass for return flight mention to airline staff you have reentry permit.

No stamp when you go out, or come back.

Using electronic machine, not people of immigration.

Unless you want that stamp, some people like it to prove travel history in various contexts, including Thais.

Call me old school...

I don't mind no stamps in/out of my home country however reentering Thailand I like to see a stamp with my "permitted stay" date.

Correct.

Thank you (all) for your advice.  Did mean to also check, my 90 days reporting re-sets from return arrival day?  And I need to re-register/confirm my existing address info as soon as possible ?

Thanks again

You don't check that your 90 day report resets. You do that yourself.

The window for 90 day report will open 75 days after reentry.

Count date of entry day 1.

Ignore any message from app to do it earlier.

Unfortunately currently since immigration trying to sync TM30 with TM47 you need to do 90 report in person after trip abroad.

Previously that wasn't the case.

The system is rubbish/broken imo.

Personally doing online next Tuesday after having done in person report at CW on Nov 5.

If rejected there is no way I will attend CW for report.

Yes could do it via mail as that's bullet proof.

Added problem with CW is that often you don't get result till after grace period.

I might have phrased that poorly, I meant to imply 'check' with the more learned on here, I keep a record of my own dates, just wanted to make sure that my arrival day was day 1 again, which you clarified - thanks.

Is that everything I need to record - nothing about re-verifying my address again after re-entry ?

Also make sure the stamp you out. They didn't  me and 3 years later had issues leaving the country. Didn't get picked up at Pattaya immigration at visa ext, but did at Non Khai.

There is no automated machine for entering the country.  Not likely to happen for a long time, and the first people it will be for will be visa exempt with an ETA.  I doubt those with actual visas will have any opportunity to use automated gates for years to come.
