A social media video also appeals to diplomats, scientists and high-tech specialists to spill the beans on their inside knowledge of 'the top leadership of the Russian Federation'

The CIA has made an audacious appeal for Vladimir Putin’s military officers and spies to contact them and hand over key secrets about his regime.

The arrest and dismissal of numerous associates of former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu by Russian authorities have triggered a wave of unease among the country’s elite.

Last year, the Russian president cracked down on high-ranking officials in both the government and the military, leading to a series of arrests and dismissals.

According to a report by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) carried out arrests within the Ministry of Defense and the armed forces.

Dozens of individuals lost their jobs and were imprisoned by Russian authorities, with three of them reportedly being close associates of Sergei Shoigu, the report revealed.
