What happens when these other countries retaliate with counter tariffs?

It's not as if Europe wants US chlorine washed chicken or additive laced foods and drinks, many of which are banned because of their content.

Trade wars happen.

Like any wars, much easier to start than to end.

But this is what the American people narrowly voted for.

They certainly didn't vote for invading Panama and Greenland but they did vote for Trump's cockamamie tariffs.

How many of those countries have a trade deficit with the USA?

Edit:  Or a trade surplus depending on which POV you're using?

There was no need for any nuance as my statement was clear. There is no thin veil of trope about trump except in your mind. He can not be trusted and if you actually knew his history throughout his life you would know that.

Im not playing the victim in any way, just pointing out how you and his other followers fall for his bs and should keep score for yourselves.

I'm not posting anything leftist so that was a nice try at gaslighting what was actually written. Im posting trump is a POS and has no moral compass. That has nothing to do with Republican or Democrat left or right he is and has always been a POS. You dont need to be in any category to be an A$$hat, its called character or lack of it. If you agree with him and his positions and actions then perhaps you fall into that same category, Capische??????

Don't be mad. The four years will be over in... well, four years, actually, so maybe you have cause to be just a wee bit mad 🤔. But, the disingenuousness and overall negative energy expended to prop up the anti-Trump tropes is corrosive. You do you though!

I do agree with President Trump's positions and actions, no "maybe" about it, so no need to pretend I am being coy about it. Fire away with the tropes! After all, the strategy of divisiveness, if-your-not-with-us-youre-scum, etc. worked so well for ya this recent election cycle. Thank you for helping to elect our savior President Trump! If you keep it up, you might also help elect whatever awesome patriot the (R)s put up in 2028 (like Vance maybe?). Awesome! 🌈🦄

Again you have no defense for posting your original nonsense that had nothing to do with my statement, and also this load of bs.

You like most Trump cultists deflect and gaslight when you have no defense to stand on when facts are presented. Thats what your doing right now.

You keep doing you as well and see where you end up. Don't forget to keep track of your promised changes and improvements under Trump. The sh!tshow has already started so get your shovel.

You have a great day now

Despite the inane protestations of leftists everywhere, Trump is not a dictator; he works within a larger system. So we'll win some bigly, but also lose some. That's a reasonable standard, and survives disingenuousness on the part of those who make anti-Trump statements and then pretend they didn't.

That said, we're only on day... what, three? And the winning is already YUGE!

No deflection or gaslighting required. America is already Great(er) Again than it was 3 days ago!

You are correct there will be wins and loses no matter who is president. But how much destruction will he do during his tenure, its already started but you call it great.  You are way off base in many of your other statements going back to your original reply to me which was a nonsensical reply that had nothing to do with what I wrote.

I am not a trump fan and never will be as I grew up with his many bs actions, racism, fraud, cheating, housing abuse, employee wage abuse and multiple lawsuits along with his sexual abuse going back years. I saw them first hand throughout his life.

He continued on with them during his last presidency and I highly doubt he will change now. He is a typical abusive A type personality with narcissistic behavior and it continually shows.  So yeah I think he is a POS.

If you like him and feel he's great and accept his behavior as a national leader then your moral compass may be off just as his is.

Facts are not disingenuous except to those that are to blind to see facts right in front of them.  Im done discussing this as you gaslight and deflect from what is posted and make excuses when called out on it. Believe what you want time will tell the truth.

I don't get that Musk is pro China as Chinese EVs will wipe the floor with Tesla, unless he's given up on Tesla- sold his shares and abandoned ship.

However, I know little about the intricacies of the China situation except they are not friends with anyone not Chinese- ask the Tibetans about that.

Up to me, Nixon would never have normalised China, and they'd still be marching around waving Mao's little red book, and Britain would still rule Hong Kong, but if wishes were horses and all that.

Re Drill Baby, I suspect the pipeline from Canada will be resumed soon. It shouldn't have deteriorated in only 4 years.

Good link. Important quote from the article:

“I’m kind of pro-China,” Mr. Musk said in the interview late Wednesday. “And I know this makes it sound like ‘Well, do you have all these vested interests in China?’ I’m like, I have some vested interests in China but honestly, I think China is underrated and I think the people of China are really awesome and there’s a lot of positive energy there.”

Mr. Musk’s support of the communist country was met with skepticism by Rep. Mike Gallagher, Wisconsin Republican, who told Mr. Musk he viewed China as being on “team genocidal communism” and not “team humanity.”

America was thriving and in control, especially of tech in the 80s and 90s. And then Clinton and the Bushes gave it all away to China.

Right! Thanks for proving my point that you hate Trump. The motivation for your disingenuous "that wasn't an anti-Trump statement, it was an invitation to action!" claims is now laid fully bare.

Trump realizes almost nothing about anything.

He's great at marketing. He's garbage at governing.

His attention span is about the last guy he talked to and now all those guys are loyalist often oligarchs. Fasten your seatbelts.

Normally, I think Trump realizes a lot.  However, sometimes he seems to be in over his head and maybe really  does believe whatever "the last guy he talked to" said.

Recently, Bill Gates supposedly had a long talk with Trump about vaccines.  And now there's chatter about RFK Jr. and his suitability to be head of HHS.  That worries me.  Finally a guy who understands the evils facing the population, and we might lose him. Because of some oligarchs.

Fast forward to yesterday and Trump did a press conference on "Stargate," a huge project to propel the USA into the world of AI and technological research.  The head of SoftBank was there to pledge 500 billion dollars to invest in the project.  Also in attendance was Larry Ellison of Oracle and the Chat GPT guy, Sam Altman.  It all seemed fairly typical for a Trump press conference.  But Larry Ellison's presentation bothered me a lot.  Trump had just praised the trio as some of the smarted guys out there in their fields, and yet there was Larry Ellison, touting sone new AI technique that could manufacture custom mRNA vaccines tailored to individual cancer cells. And this could be done with 48 hours of testing an individual's blood for any cancers that might be circulating., sequencing the DNA of those cancers, and using that information to build a vaccine.  And yet what does Larry Ellison know about viruses, really? Anything? Or is he just another guy who takes as gospel anything the last guy he talked to told him?

$500 billion is the total amount by the 5 investors. And Musk raised doubts about their capacity to invest that amount (he may be right or not).

Art of the deal, that's a funny one. Trump could not negotiate his way out of a paper bag, the man has failed far more than he has succeeded and the vast majority of his fortune was stolen from small contractors.

The winning certainly is huge. For Trump and Melanaiawho launched meme crypto currency. It's a good thing that Trump is in no position to change the rules on crypto in a way that would favor $TRUMP and $MELANIA....oh wait a minute.

According to the last thing I saw, Musk was of the opinion that the SoftBank guy only had 10 billion dollars of financing secured.
