Rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya responded to an emergency call at approximately 03.10 on 26 January, reporting a severe electric shock at a restaurant near Soi 13/3, Beach Road, Pattaya, Chonburi. Upon arrival, they found onlookers and tourists gathered around the injured worker, identified as Mr. Chatmongkol, 34, who had been shocked and fallen from scaffolding. Rescue personnel provided immediate first aid and noted severe burn wounds on both hands caused by the electric shock, with bleeding from injuries from the fall. The victim was quickly transported to Pattaya Patamakun Hospital for urgent medical attention. According to Mr. Chakrapan, 39, a co-worker at the scene, the team had been hired to carry out renovation work on the restaurant. During the incident, each worker was focused on their respective tasks. The victim was reportedly attempting to fasten a rolling door when a loose electrical cable suddenly came into contact with the scaffolding. Unaware of the danger, the victim grabbed the cable and was shocked, causing him to be thrown backwards and fall from the scaffolding. Panicked colleagues immediately shut off the power and called rescue services to assist the injured worker. Authorities are investigating the incident. -- 2025-01-26 1
