A shocking incident unfolded at the Nan Provincial Land Reform Office on 27 January, when an employee shot his supervisor dead in the workplace. Another individual was critically injured in the violent outburst.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wanatpong Santipongsatorn, Deputy Superintendent of Phu Phiang Police Station, and Police Captain Danutach Kitiyos, along with an investigative team and rescue officials, arrived at the scene at the Public Service Centre on the second floor of the office building after receiving a report of the shooting at 11:45.

The victim, Mr. Kitja 50, a senior survey engineer and head of the Engineering and Mapping Department, was found lying in a pool of blood in the office. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nearby, police discovered Mr. Narubet 46, an experienced survey engineer, critically injured and barely breathing. A 9mm handgun and five spent cartridges were found near his body. He was rushed to Nan Hospital for emergency treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident stemmed from long-standing workplace disputes. Colleagues reported frequent arguments between the two men, which may have escalated into this tragic confrontation.

Authorities are awaiting forensic investigators to examine the scene in detail. Further inquiries will aim to uncover the precise motives behind the shooting.
