Pee-ce treaty: Foreigners demand more loos after Phuket public urination uproar
Photo via Facebook/ Phuket Times ภูเก็ตไทม์ By Petch Petpailin Foreign netizens defended themselves and called for more public bathrooms in Phuket after Thai nationals condemned the foreigners on social media for urinating in public. The Phuket Times, shared images of two foreign men urinating on the footpath on February 2. The news outlet criticised the tourists in the caption which read, “Pee everywhere #PhuketForeigners #QualityTourists.” The two foreign men were seen using cars to shield their private parts while urinating. The man in a dark green shirt was spotted urinating against a parked van, which soiled both the vehicle and the road. Thai netizens criticised the tourists’ actions in the comments. “What’s wrong with this? It’s the spot for dogs to pee, and they did right.” “Can I have scissors to cut it off to feed ducks?” “What would happen if they did this in Singapore?” “Hope their penises rot.” “This is better than defecation.” However, some Thai and international netizens took to social media to point out that the two foreigners had to urinate in public because no public bathrooms were available, especially late at night when they were drunk. “I want Phuket and other tourist destinations in Thailand to have more public toilets. Two million tourists arrive, but only 100 bathrooms are available. Demand and supply are not balanced.” “Most public bathrooms close before tourists start getting drunk. Some toilets that stay open late are hidden at the back of parking lots with no signs. A tourist would not find them, even if they weren’t drunk.” “Phuket has no public bathrooms.” Despite the lack of public toilets, these two foreigners may face a fine of up to 2,000 baht for making public spaces dirty, according to the Public Cleanliness and Orderliness Act, similar to a foreigner who urinated at Phuket International Airport last week. If you are retired, does it bother you that you will never be a Thai Permanent Resident?
Not one bit. Now if SIngapore or S. Korea offered then I would be interested. Thailand is a fine place to get value for your money in most cases but quality is rare. Also, sometimes doing the simple things get complicated. For example I exchanged some money at a local Bankgok Bank branch today(I am going back to LA soon), I wanted some dollars. The entire exahange process took 15 minutes and beside presenting my passport I had to sign three different documents, give them my address, phone # and email address. Then the teller had to notify her manager/supervisor. I told the teller I have an account with BK Bank that didn;t matter. I was exchanging Baht to Dollars. I thought this was very bureaucratic for a bank. On a postive note I got a very good exchange rate and no fee. TIT "love it just the way it is or leave". -

"Foreighn Income" and your Thai Accountant.
i believe for non-residents that is only for Thai sourced assessable income, and not for remitted foreign income, even if such remitted foreign income is assessable income. -

American Woman, more =uppity= nowadays?: American Woman, stay away from me..!?
GG, I've read that, along with hundreds of other books and articles on children, so I could help the ones I've had, especially because their mothers were not parents and only egg donors. And try not thinking others don't understand Chinese women and you're some kind of expert. Do you have a Chinese girlfriend or wife, or any long lasting relationships with any, or are you just on the outside reading a few stories about how they might think? Again, it's best not to assume you know me, nor anyone else here. -

Wake Up! - EVs Are Here, and Your Gas Guzzler is on Life Support
You are correct IMO in that ICE cars are much better for trips over 200 kilometers ( probably 250to 280). I drive well over 250 kilometers about once a month and it can be frustrating at times the with the EV. Usually I just remind myself to calm down and why rush. I'm retired, have the luxury of time, and usually traveling solo. As one poster stated, It take 20 minutes to charge from 30-80% is far from accurate in my experience and you will be looking for another charger in a little over 100 kilometers after charging to 80%. Charger not working, chargers full, extremely slow charger, no electronic chargers on your route(detour time!) to name a few of the challenges. I enjoy my EV and it fits my lifestyle very well. By far the best car I've ever owned. Just took the Hilux on a 60 kilometer trip and simply don't like it anymore. Still debating if I need both. Can't wait till they come out with a Truck that cost around a million baht.
