An incident occurred on the morning of 10 February, when a 21-year-old female university student fell to her death from a 15-storey building on a well-known university campus in Nakhon Pathom. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
At approximately 09:30 Pol Lt Sthaphon Duangsi, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Mueang Nakhon Pathom Police Station, received a report of a student falling from a building. He promptly arrived at the scene along with forensic officers, medical personnel from Nakhon Pathom Hospital, and rescue workers from the Suksalanukroh Foundation.
Upon arrival, officials found the lifeless body of the victim, identified only as Ms A, a fourth-year student. She was discovered lying in a pool of blood with severe head trauma, a fractured skull, and extensive injuries. She was wearing a white shirt beneath a black long-sleeved jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, and socks.
A preliminary inspection of the building revealed an open window on an upper floor, believed to be the point from which the student fell. Investigators ascended to the location and discovered personal belongings, including a pair of white trainers, a fabric shoulder bag, a wallet, and various identification documents, all of which were collected as evidence.
A security guard at the university stated that the building is routinely opened by cleaning staff each morning and locked in the evening. Given the frequent movement of students throughout the premises, no suspicious activity had been noticed prior to the incident.
At present, authorities have not determined whether the fall was accidental or intentional. Further investigations, including interviews with the victim's family and friends, will be conducted to establish any possible contributing factors.
Police continue to gather evidence to determine the exact cause of the tragedy.
