A 37-year-old fisherman was found dead in the waters beneath Phuyai Rapin Bridge in Samae San, Sattahip, on the evening of 13 February.

Police Lieutenant Thanit Theepakdee, an investigator at Sattahip Police Station, received a report at 17:20 about a body floating near the left side of the bridge. Rescue workers from the Sawang Rojanatham Sathan Foundation were dispatched to the scene.

The deceased, identified as Natthapong Binbueraheng, was discovered wearing only brown shorts. His body was found floating in an upright position, arms wrapped around a bridge pillar. No visible wounds or signs of foul play were detected, and authorities estimated he had been dead for approximately six hours.

Rescue workers faced difficulties retrieving the body but managed to secure it with a nylon rope before using a canoe to transport it to shore. The body was then sent to Sattahip Kilometer 10 Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Natthapong’s 79-year-old grandmother, Yuan Hongthong, who was waiting anxiously at the scene, stated that her grandson was a squid fisherman and frequently drank alcohol with friends near the bridge. She recounted that he had visited her home the previous day to ask for money to buy alcohol.

Authorities suspect he became intoxicated and accidentally fell into the sea, leading to his death.
