Your experience seems to be unique.   The few times I've been to, I'm amazed how much Thais can pile on those little plates.

 

I've even heard .... some folks order an meat entrée, then pig out on the salad bar, and take the meat entrée away.  Now that's thrifty ...

OP ....  I have to question your motive here,     it's like when you enjoy going to an island for two day with a deserted beach,   peaceful and relaxing.    Then some idiot posts it on social media and every lunatic  decides they'll try it ....     then the peace is destroyed because of an idiot behind a keyboard. 

 

What is your purpose?   are you getting paid to promote?  I don't understand your agenda... 

 

Everyone knows Sizzlers exists as show ,  it is marketed here extensively already,  what are you trying to prove ?  now all it needs is plenty of knucklehead farangs to visit and that'll really help.   Lol     ( do you get my point )

But in Thailand it comes with free Ecoli.  No chance I would ever eat at a salad bar in Thailand.  Even street food is much safer.

Don't know if it's like this in all branches but in Hua-hin I don't come to Sizzles anymore since they don't serve wine after Covid.
Surely you would expect in a restaurant to be able to have a glass of wine with your dinner.

Actually, 3 plates of salad, one plate for cheese bread, one plate for watermelon and choco whips, and at least 4 bowls of soup.  Of course, not all at once.  😆

Beware if your area supports the 159 discount.  Some areas have 199b every day.  I miss the wonderful 139b weekdays.

Depends on my company.  I personally prefer the salad bar alone, but with gf we have ordered MANY large, expensive meals there.  She is not keen on the salad bar like me.  🥗

 

Their menu has changed a lot over the years.  I miss the 3 slider burgers.  🍔🍔🍔

There are at least two Sizzlers on Phuket, in Central and Robinson malls.

We sometimes go for lunch. We split one of the specials, and the wife gets salad bar. About 700 baht all in.

But local Thai/seafood restaurants are better and cheaper IMO!

Yes, I'm going to agree with the folks who gave confused, sad and laughing reactions to your comment.  I don't understand what you're saying either.  My wife many times only ordered the salad bar and I have also done so.  I've seen students come into Sizzler and stack an unbelievable amount of salad on their plates.  We were never embarrassed, nor were the students.

 

I still eat at Sizzler about once a month, but only eat steak now.  Which Sizzler, you ask?  Fashion Island, but we use to go to the one at SCB Park Plaza, which has closed.

salad bars also include beans - plenty of protein there too.   I have eaten there in different locations over the years and never had any ill effects.  It is not any more expensive than most other western food restaurants.

You know I used to get this grilled salmon at the place in the shopping mall and it was always good a few months ago go in there and order the exact same thing I usually get and the salmon looks smaller the vegetable is nothing like they used to be before I think it’s so went all downhill Now the price of the salad bar I guess is OK but I’ve tried a few other dishes there it just seems like the last year or two it’s gone downhill TIT

I have been to one a few times, it is in Centra Shopping Phuket, it is out of the tourist areas so 90% of the customers were Thai.

 

They eat mostly meat with a side dish from the self-service salad bar as that is included in most if not all of the meals.

 

I took four people on holiday from England there a couple of months ago, the quality of the meat has gone down, I had to force myself to finish mine.

 

The salad bar is good though as it included salad of course but also three different types of soup and desserts. 

 

Regarding your comment on Issan, I think the majority of farangs living in Thailand as far as I have seen over the last 30 years have a Thai partner/wife/girlfriend from Issan and so they think nearly all Thais are poor, I know many well-off Thais as my circle of friends are not from Issan. 

 

In Phuket my gated community complex which contains about 300 houses the majority of houses are owned by Thais, and there are one or two Mercedes cars around as well.

 

The comment about Issan is not derogatory but one to balance things up regarding Thai society.
