Bouncing Truck Tyre from Nowhere Injures Two in Local Repair Shop

In a bizarre incident last night, a large truck tyre unexpectedly rolled into a motorcycle repair shop in Samut Prakan, Thailand, injuring two individuals. The occurrence unfolded at approximately 9.30pm on February 20 at a shop located in Racha Thewa subdistrict, Bang Phli district.

Atchara, 29, from Chanthaburi, sustained a head injury after the tyre struck her neck, causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground. Meanwhile, Vasan, an 18-year-old mechanic at the shop, suffered minor shoulder bruises when the tyre bounced off him after hitting Atchara.

The shop's security footage captured the tyre's bizarre journey as it careened off King Kaew Road and into the shop. Atchara was present to adjust her motorcycle chain when the tyre rolled in, seemingly appearing from nowhere.

Police officers from Bang Kaeo Police Station, accompanied by the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, responded swiftly to the scene. Initial investigations suggest the tyre might have fallen off a moving vehicle, dislodged by the poor road conditions which created an uneven surface.

Currently, investigators are reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify the vehicle responsible for the wandering tyre. Legal proceedings against the responsible party are anticipated once the vehicle is identified.

This unusual event has already begun to raise questions about road safety and vehicle maintenance standards, as authorities urge caution and awareness to prevent similar occurrences, reported The Thaiger.

This sounds quite horrific, a fast moving bouncing truck tire coming out of nowhere is everybody's worst nightmare.

If only those lugs were tightened properly.

....so not dislodged because it was not properly secured?

I would agree but the photo appears to show a tyre, not a wheel.

Probably just thrown on deck of truck and bounced off. Had something similar happen and not nice at all. Looks to just be a tyre. Had it been rim and tyre then could have been fatal

I don't see a rim... just a tyre
