The language always amuses me with these people. If this was a foreigner there would be a nation wide manhunt underway. Pattaya this IS your reputation. Who are you trying to kid. What a joke.

She later shared the footage in a social media group as a warning, stressing that such behaviour damages the city's image and instils fear among tourists. The world understands what happens in Pattaya, only TAT believe it still has an image 1

UK has always been dreadful for violence around most high streets. Back in the day especially at chucking out time. But even today some towns have ambulances park on stand by near the high street because they'll be needed by the evening's over. I feel far safer in Thailand. Only ever once had a potentially violent confrontation - with the tuktuk tossers in Phuket. Don't go there any more anyway. Pattaya? - never a problem. 1

Not always... well not always for us older guys. I agree in Thailand far less likely... often if you get a slapping here, it was deserved!
factual monk Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It's a coconut 🥥 vendor high on drugs chasing a coconut who was also high on drugs... in family destination Pattaya...
Classic Ray Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I wonder how the aggressor in a full face crash helmet was identified as a Thai, instead of any other nationality. Also, how about the victim, how do we know he was a foreigner? Maybe the answers are in the video, I haven’t bothered to watch it, nationalities irrelevant anyway.

He caught them around his neck and got angry and started pulling them all down until a food vendor chased him with a large knife. He ran into the HASH bar I was drinking at...none of the Falangs in the bar were going to help him. If you want to cause trouble with the food vendors then you sort out the problem. If it was many years ago, I doubt that these were the same people, so it was probably a different reason for the chase.

Kerryd Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I thought The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) was supposed to be monitoring all foreigners in the country now (Big Brother/Gestapo style) ? https://aseannow.com/topic/1352541-internal-security-operations-command-isoc-to-monitor-foreigners in-thailand/ Surely they must have seen the incident. Oh wait - they are only concerned about foreigners committing crimes, not locals committing crimes against foreigners.

Yes, this is the same scrapyard as the main beach of Pattaya, but a bit nicer and cleaner. Dongtan Beach is part of a larger Jomtien Beach, and it is notable for a large gay community. http://www.beach-on-map.com/jomtien.html
bkk6060 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Jomtien is part of the Pattaya municipality. Any services there come from Pattaya. It is Jomtien beach, Pattaya. Some people have the impression that it is upper scale to Pattaya central they like to make the point they are from Jomtien. Ever cruise up and down the lower Sois of Jomtien? Some of the worst, filthy, rat infested, probably drug infested slums anywhere. Add, the vacant condo shells and now the one way road to nowhere never thought much of the place. 1 2

Sad you don't know a city from a suburb. You might as well say Kata is not part of Phuket.
Evolare Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago What's the culturally appropriate thing to do in this situation should I hit the guy with the knife with my car or should I blame the tourist as he obviously must have done something to upset this concerned local? 😲 Or should I just take a picture of it and share it on social media for likes? 🔪 📱 1
