Image on the human skin is not part of the  goods! It is her own body....

A Tattoo is classed as a "image"  now !  The definitive answer is probably not illegal  BUT ! There are a number of ultra-conservative Buddhist foundation in Thailand called KnowingBuddha.org  and felt that Buddha images were being used too much for decoration, proposed ban set off a firestorm among Thai tattoo artists and the Culture Department has dropped the issue for now. But some people were not happy. so its a 50/50 thing !! so what immigration/customs says at the airport if you are leaving anybodys guess in Thailand!!

Cultural sensitivity by stupid woke tits not actual Thais, the fact she's speaking Thai has a Thai bf says she knows far more than any virtue singnalling social media troll.

Do you even know what the  term woke means?

It means that one is aware of and attentive to societal inequities.   In the good old days, it was called being respectful  and socially responsible. The golden rule is a cornerstone of  being woke .

The  people protesting are not much different than those who deride social responsibility. Like you, they wish to dictate their  views to others.

The meaning of woke has changed from what it was.

I understand your concern to protect the value of the Buddhism and its Thai culture & I respect that. At the same time, I am in little delimma whether the lady with tattoo purposely intends to cause the offence to Thai society and she asks good simple question: is this wrong? So my answer is this is not wrong unless the law says. 🙏

Thai laws are purposely ambiguity  so the answer is 50/50 depends on the thai immigration/customs

Lord Buddha would be completely disgusted with what constitutes Thai Buddhism, this is the least of the offenses.

You can speak for Buddha?

Was he a close friend before he passed?

what does father christmas have to do with the catholic faith?    Christmas was a pagan festival long before christianity was dreamed up

The origins of Father Christmas can be traced back to the legend of Saint Nicholas, a 4th century Greek bishop. Saint Nicholas was known for his kindness and generosity, and became the patron saint of children. Saint is - to my limited knowledge - a religious description. Your call!

Let's hope Thai immigration/customs will treat her fairly with reasonable explanation.

Good to know that, in addition to the Water Festival, Somtam, mango/sticky rice, etc., etc., Thailand now also has a monopoly when it comes to Buddhism and depictions of Lord Buddha.

Dont forget about "elephant pants" too   lol
