US votes against the free world at UN

There were outright winners in WW11 where both protagonists surrendered.

The winners took the spoils.

(including Russia declaring war on Japan on August 8, 1945;  shortly after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, effectively forcing Japan to surrender large areas of Manchuria and other Japanese-controlled territories in the Far East to Russia-some of which are still under dispute today.)

That at present is not the case with the ongoing invasion by Russia.

If Trump continues to give his best friend Putin the go ahead to declare his own terms to end the Russian invasion then Russia will keep at least, if not more, of what they have already captured.  Ukraine would obviously have to retreat from the Kursk region.

As a result WW111or Russian/Chinese/North Korean etc expansion will surely follow.

This could possibly end up with Trump's dream of  the US/Russian/Chinese triumvirate with Trump as it's leader/dictator.

I hope to hell I am wrong!!!!!!!!!

Every crazy forecast is wrong.

How is US voting alongside Russia and North Korea "good diplomacy". Many call it our as appeasement with no guarantees Russia will cease military engagement against Ukraine, nor withdrawal from Ukrainian territory. The vote assuredly does not MAGA, quite the opposite.

It's headed toward stopping the killing & deaths.   A step forward from the past, when IMHO, killings & deaths were encouraged for the defense departments of the west, for them good ol' profits.

Let's stop the killings first, then fine tune the details.  Only common sense, and glad some countries actually still have some.

Today, the term "the free world" has been redefined.

It is not what it was meant to be, when it was coined!

IMHO

No such thing and never has been IMO. I'm not "free" to not pay taxes or ignore the speed limit.

there is no way the US has pumped $300-350 billion into defending Ukraine). that's his new lie. the original lie was $500 billion

Deal making usually involves quoting a higher price than one is prepared to accept to close the deal, but you knew that, right?

Who's the daddy? LOL.

I see heads exploding on AN, LOL.

BTW, Trump doesn't give a monkey's for the "old way" of doing things in Euroland which gave us 3 years of slaughter in Ukraine.

I don't care who he votes for in that farce- the UN- as long as it stops young guys like I used to be getting massacred in the trenches. Seems some on here think it's OK for lots of boys to die as long as it's not their kin. Pity they didn't have the balls to go and join in to support their cause.

So in WW2, you would have favored just letting Hitler have his way?

No, we sided with Russia and smashed them.

History proves you wrong. We joined Russia to win ww2. Trump is getting the war ended soon. Only an idiot would want the war to keep going another 4 years.

Well, Zelensky caved in and is supposedly ready to sign onto the peace deal giving the US half interest the titanium and other rare earth minerals concentrated near the disputed areas.   That sounds all well and good, but will such deal be acceptable to Russia?  No NATO in Ukraine is a must for them, and perhaps that goes as well for no EU soldiers.  So can Trump convince Putin that the mere presence of the ongoing mineral extraction business run by the US is a sufficient guarantee for Russia?  Will Russia itself guarantee the safety of the business?

My guess is that something along those lines will happen.  Maybe the US can cut in Russia for a share of its profits.  Everybody wins except Ukraine, o so it would seem.

One thing is certain, the EU is finished as a military power in the region, as is NATO.  But the killing will stop as Trump has promised.

He wants 50% of Ukraine. He won't get that. He gets 11% which he won under Biden. Do keep up.

Russia currently occupies about 20 percent of Ukraine. Recent efforts have encroached ever deeper .

Putin will not retreat.

His new Axis ally is being offered the rest.

9% from 2014, 11% from last 3 years. They gained less than 4% a year. Pathetic army. Another 20 years to gain full control at that rate or 10 years at double speed.

I don't think the Democratic Party wants to have everlasting wars, but they see the point of having the Ukraine as a buffer to curb Russia's expansionism. Should Putin not be deterred, he becomes a serious threat to Europe. As the US and EU have the largest bilateral trade and investment relationship in the world, the US economy would be negatively impacted.

Exactly.

"Fixing" Putin now is like fixing a mechanical problem in your car before the car explodes. The longer you wait, the worse it gets.

Suggest you review your comprehension of US deciding to join in WW11. Who's suggesting they wish for the Ukraine war to extend for another four years?

This response by you (@Harrisfan) to simple1's post really proves to me that in fact you don't read any news or history.  The Allies did not side with Russia... they needed them.... almost as much as the Russians needed the aid from the Allies before they could get their war effort organized.  The existential Nazi threat was what brought Russia and the Allies together.

Another of your posts that is a complete non sequitur to the discussion you quoted.  In case you forgot.... the other posters were addressing appeasement to prevent war
